I know you don't get a ring for the ECF, but it still counts. Those are still big games. And he came up huge. Which makes this Finals even more disappointing.
you think Jordan/Kobe/Shaq/DuncanMagic/Bird gave a damn about credit for the Conference Finals? lol wat a lame reach to further 'jock' lebrick.. its sad, stop it Barkley, on the other hand, would love credit for the WCF
A lot of lies going on in here, as per usual. Lebron James is one of the best SF mid range shooters in the NBA, better then Durunt, anyone that thinks otherwise, really needs to stop hating.\ Lebron has a post game, and is very effective at it, and numerous posts have been made showing his stats in the post. Lebron is more Magic then Jordan, so don't know why people keep going on with this same topic over and over. Jordan is the best player the NBA as seen, and I doubt anyone will come close to him for awhile.
http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=6518731&pg=0 According to NBA.com's StatsCube, LeBron made 45 percent of his midrange jumpers last year, which is an incredibly efficient mark for a high-usage perimeter player. Paul Pierce made 44 percent of his mid-range jumpers. Kobe Bryant made 42 percent of his. Derrick Rose made 40 percent of his. Dwyane Wade, 40 percent. Kevin Durant, 42 percent. Carmelo Anthony, 42 percent. Ray Allen shot 46 percent, barely edging out LeBron. Statistically speaking, out of all the high-usage perimeter players in the league, LeBron was the best midrange shooter not named Dirk Nowitzki. (Dirk shot 53 percent -- he's a freak. Owned?
There's a big difference between picking a raw talent and judging two players after they played 7-8 years in the league. It's like saying MJ wouldn't figure out Kwame is a bust today. Your argument is consistent with your ignorance though.
If anything, Kobe averaged 34/9/6 against Queens/Spurs in 2001 playoff, arguably the best teams that year. LeBron had some 24/.45 performance against a young bulls and shrinks quickly against the better Mavs.
LeBron is 3-15 in the last quarter in finals. All 3 of them are layup/dunks. He can't make a jumper if he's life is dependent on it. Dirk scored 26 when the lead with either team is less than 5 within 5 minutes, LeBron, a whopping 0.
I would call 24.7/.447 stats line huge, when he has an all star getting 23.2/.600 that's only the 3rd best player in the team. Not to mention Bulls ain't that good to begin with.
He having issues making it this finals, but you people are saying he had no jumper, which is wrong, as he has been hitting them all the way up to the finals. 5 games doesn't change this fact.
Kobe was 6/18 in the 4th against Dallas and put up worse overall numbers than LeBron AND his team got swept, but you won't see welchbug posting about that.
Not true. Tell me why with this mythical post game you speak of Dallas feels comfortable playing Jason Kidd on lebron instead of Marion for long stretches. I think the stats you speak of are **** charts showing his percentage in the paint. Undisputed that if he gets that close he will usually get fouled or score. But there is no post game. He has no footwork in the paint. He has no up and under. He has no fadeaway jumper. He cant spin baseline out of double teams. These are all skill moves he just flat out does not posess. Not hating, just stating fact. Open floor or transition, on par or better than Jordan. Half court game where skill trump athleticism, mj all day.
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/6039/lebron-james-has-a-post-game http://www.nba.com/heat/news/evolution_post_game_110412.html Read those two pages, then you can realise you were wrong. Also "Through his work with assistant coach David Fizdale, LeBron has built a repertoire of post moves this season and he has been incredibly effective. How effective? He scores more points per post-up than Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Joe Johnson. " Owned?
Looks to me like the opinions of Miami Heat Bloggers without hard numbers to validate it. I am still looking, but don't see any such stats on NBA.com. I'm sure they are out there so I will keep searching. I wouldn't be surprised if it is true that he scores when his back to the basket in the paint. But backing down Paul pierce and knocking him over to shoot a lay up isn't necessarily a "post game"
Game 4 was the first time Kidd guarded Lebron for any significant stretch. They still doubled him every time he got the ball in the post (which they were doing when Marion guarded him as well). I agree with you that Lebron does not have the smooth, polished moves in the post that a lot of other players have, but the numbers show that his post game is still effective. Someone has posted the stats before showing that his success rate when he catches the ball in the post is as high as most of the other guys known for their post game (including Kobe and Dirk).
difference. Kobe has proved himself in that cat. more than ENOUGH LOL. And to doubt his shooting capability is beyond ignorant. Numerous people have knocked on lebron for his shooting mechanics and inconsistency. Players hit strides, and even though people will say all they want about the bulls , they really weren't as good of a team as their record would indicate. Fact is lebron's flaws really show when its against better teams. When it comes to defense, I have to say that Lebron is ****ing ridiculous. I don't think I can remember a player of his type being so dominant. The amount of times he's embarrased marion on the break and dunk attempts is far too many.
