The goal for every alpha male superstar is to win a ring as "the man".

That's why Kobe "allegedly" pushed out Shaq, he wanted to be the man in LA. Then he realized he can't win without more help and b****ed and moan until LA got Gasol, who wasn't going to challenge Kobe as the alpha male.

Yeah it's great LBJ decided to put his own ego aside, but to me it's more like his ego couldn't take being called a loser and decided to win a title the easy way just so he won't hear about him being ringless anymore.

Winning is a part of the ego. No one likes being called a loser and "got no ring", especially King James.

Defend LBJ all you want, but any title he wins on the Heat with Bosh and DWade is backing into a title to me.

When the game is on the line, winners always want the ball.

Because it will be greeted with a yawn. Not very intriguing if it's too easy.

Are you a troll? Let's do this analysis between Rondo (Boston's best player), Lebron and Kobe:

    Lebron's 2nd, 3rdand 4rth options:

    Shaq
    Mo williams
    Jamison

    Rondo's 2nd, 3rd, 4rth options
    KG
    Pierce
    Allen

    Kobe's 2nd 3rd 4rth:
    Gasol
    Odom
    Artest

So based on this you're saying LBJ SHOULD have won the championship, and Cleveland did a good job of surrounding him with talent? HIs team was crap! Why does he have to work at a disadvantage compared to Kobe and Rondo? He should have the same all star players these other guys enjoy, and not have to beat amazing players with amazing teams.

What? James cant hold Moses jock strap.
Moses Malone won 3 mvps, 1 ring, averaged 21 and 12 in his 19 years career.
    James?

Sorry mate its not even remotely close.

I agree. I turned off the TV as soon as he announced he's going to Miami, so I don't know what followed. I expected it to be a press conference where he'd take questions from the media -- not a cozy interview with Jim Gray. It was weak.

We have to rememberthis guys has Delonte West waiting for him back there in Cleveland. If those rumors are true? He wants to leave that dude behind also and take his mother away from such a scumbag teammate also. If those rumors are true. That aspect I can certainly respect.

He can still be the best player on the Heat.

Or his ego saw that teams that win championships have multiple superstars and decided to go a route that guaranteed he'd have some of those. The way you describe it here, Lebron is just skipping Kobe's silly ego trip that wasted a few years of his career. But you seem to imply that's a bad thing?

I hate defending Lebron, but I suspect he won't really care.

Outside of geography, how is him joining Bosh and DWade any different than if Bosh and DWade had found their way to Cleveland and joining Lebron? Did Allen and Garnett back into their title in Boston since they went and latched onto Pierce?

Why is it easy when they have no bench? Do you expect him to laze around on the bench and collect without having to do anything? Do you think Wade and Bosh alone guarantees a title?

Why is it that Paul Pierce can play with Garnett, Allen and Rondo and Kobe can play with Gasol and Odom and have it be ok, but LBJ can't play with Bosh and Wade?

They will all have to work extra hard because the team is 90% them. Its not like Wade, Bosh and LBJ will show up and the other team automatically loses. They still have to earn it, and as I said teams like Boston and the Lakers have allstar players as well as deep benches.

So was Hakeem not a winner, since he was willing to let Horry, Elie, Cassell, Drexler, and Smith all take huge shots in the playoffs and finals?

He's a little b**** for all the attention whoring, but not for this decision. He's clearly in it to win the chip and this who free agency allowed LeBron, Wade, and Bosh to do so. They structured their contracts for the possibility teaming up together (and to avoid the new CBA), so what's everybody so flustered about all of a sudden? James is in it for himself, but isn't that what everybody's in for anyway? America is an individualist culture and he's a product of it.

    Are you r****ded?
This crap team you just mentioned won 60+ games two years in a row and was the first seed, if they were crap then tell most teams in the NBA were worse than crap including our beloved Rockets.

They were giving Celtics fit before Lebron's slutty mum came out, didnt you watch the last two games? He looked like a 90% Tmac out there

    Get off Lebron's willie

    MJ, Pippin, Rodman
    Duncan, Manu, Tony Parker
    Duncan, Avery, Robinson
    Pierce, Allen, Garnett
    Chauncey, Rip, Rasheed
    Magic, Worthy, Kareem
    Bird, Parish, McCale
    Kobe, Shaq, Horry
    Kobe, Gasol, Fisher/Ron
    Hakeem, Drexler, Horry

And now - LEBRON, WADE, AND BOSH!!!!

LJ just showed us how much of a team player he is!! He knows he'll have to sacrifice some stats, but he is willing to do that in order to win a title!!!!

Every great championship team has had at least 3 great players!
Dont call him a "b****" for wanting to win!!! How bout we all just grow up a little bit and get ready to watch what could possibly be the most talented Basketball team in the history of the NBA!!

Show the guy some respect, if anyone has earned it its LeBron!!

You also want people to call you the GOAT while winning titles as The Man on your team.

Yes they were the first seed...because of Lebron! They won 60 games because of Lebron! WTF are you even saying they have a great team when now that Lebron's gone that team's a lottery team?

And sorry for LBJ being human. I guess he's supposed to discover that his teammate was banging his mom and not be affected at in the least.

I guess its his fault he freaked out. Way to blame the victim for the crime

NOBODY wins by themselves. People act like Lebron becomes a worst player by joining forces. Signing with the Heat will not change anything he's already accomplished. And about the only thing he hasn't done is win a championship, which he is trying to do.

LBJ's the man on that team. Who's the MVP again? I guess Duncan should have demanded the ball every time and not let Parker and Gino do their thing.
I guess Dream was a b**** for not deferring to Drexler at end games. I guess Shaq should have demanded the ball from Kobe during the 4rth quarter. I mean, they're the men right? It doesn't matter that Shaq couldn't shoot fts, just take the ball from KObe, dammit!

There's more to being the man than taking the last shot. There's rebounding, D, playmaking and showing a willingness to do what ti takes to win a game. You guys should be lauding him for his team-first attitude. Instead you're hating because he didn't go to NY and be a man on a losing team. Bravo.

Lebron is a coward. Plain and simple. Lebron's true colors came out with this announcement tonight. He showed that he doesn't want the responsibilities of being the lead dog of his own team. He is looking for the easiest way to get a championship and thats what bothers me and other hardcore NBA fans.

Elite players are held to a higher standard. They are supposed to carry their teams. Be called on to take the clutch shots. Step up when the game is on the line. But Lebron isn't doing that. He is backing down and looking for the easy way out and gravy training a ring off of Wade and Bosh.

Think of a real world example to relate this to. Its like Ford saying they cant outsell Honda so they are going to quit making cars and join up with them. But if Kia decided they were going to team up with Honda, it would be okay. Because Kia needs help. Kia cars are like role players. Ford is a bigger company so people would rather see them succeed than for them to fold up shop and join another company. Makes sense to me.
