    LeBron

Kobe went to his GM to demand better players for HIS TEAM.

He stuck around...they put some pieces around him.

And he's a bunch of rings in two different eras of Laker basketball.

His legacy is far more along the lines of the greatest to ever play the game than LeBron's is right now.

I'm sorry but your the perfect example of someone who doesn't see the forest through the trees. Watching Lebron later in that series, one could see that despite the stats something was wrong. Phil Jackson even said as much after that series was over: "We are amazed at the demeanor of LeBron in the last two home games he played," Jackson told 710 ESPN radio in Los Angeles. "I mean, we definitely saw a different guy out there on the court in Game 2 in Cleveland and Game 5 in Cleveland than we've seen from him in two or three years."

Jordan didn't have to play for 7 years and get stuck with crappy players around him.

The Heat will never be LeBron's in the way that:

    the Bulls were Jordan's

    the Celts were Larry's

    the Lakers were Magic's

    the Spurs were Duncan's

    the Rockets were Hakeem's

Those are the kinds of players we hear LeBron compared to...the legacies to which it's assumed he'd reach. From my view...he chickened out of chasing that. Equivalent to Hakeem leaving here in the early 90's. Except worse because he was much more tied to Cleveland than Hakeem was to Houston.

This was handled so horribly. Lost a lot of respect for LeBron, but....

really? remember Dave Corzine?? how about not having a post player worth a crap forever??

Jordan won his first title 8 years into his career in Chicago.

LeBron didn't stick around in Cleveland that long.

I guess the only non b****es over the past 30 years have been Hakeem (94), Duncan (03) and the 04 Pistons? Every other champ had a 2nd player that was a HOFer or someone that I would consider to be on Wade's level.

If Lebron's motivation is simply to WIN and personal happiness, I can respect that. Would I rather him be in NY or Chicago, definitely, but I'll also have to admire Lebron sacrificing, more money, presumably the chance for greater individual glory and legacy to PURSUE what he deems as the BEST SITUATION for him to WIN and be Happy.

If Lebron really believes the object of the game as one crazy nfl coached said... WE PLAY TO WIN THE GAME... then i guess i can respect his decision.

no...there's a whole host of players who didn't leave the team that drafted them to go join the Olympic team....and still won rings. Kobe just won another.

Since win is Basketball played by one player!? If and win they win the title, everybody on the TEAM will get a ring!! Pips ring belongs to pip, LJ's will belong to LJ!!!!

For god sake this isnt golf!! It takes more than one player to win a title!!

and kobe got a gift wrapped paul gasol, he had no choice to go anywhere, he was stuck in a contract

lebron tried to get players to play in cleaveland, they wouldnt, hell even ariza had no interest in playing in cleaveland.

obviously lebron is more worried about winning than being the best ever, he just wants to win

they got enough players to win more games than any team in the NBA over the past 2 seasons. this whole notion that he had nothing to work with and was so mistreated in Cleveland is a joke.

Kobe 'stuck around' LA his entire career. Tough to do. Started there because he refused to play for the team he was drafted by. Didn't have to carry the franchise in his rookie year and was able to develop. And then he got to play Robin alongside the most dominant player in the league for 3 titles (props to him though, he still earned them).

Stuck around for 3 more years (3 rings in the bag, mind you) and was gift wrapped Gasol.

LBJ sticks around for 7 years and gets...over the hill Shaq...Jamison who got destroyed by over the hill KG...Mr. Playoffs Mo Williams...LarryHughesPleaseStopTakingSoManyBadShots...Wally World...Sideshow Bob....

Maybe his Pippen was waiting around the corner...easy to tell someone to 'just keep waiting' when it's not your career.

Young kids didn't know Magic demanded trade just to get coach fired. MJ said you want me to make teammates better, give me better teammates.

Nothing wrong to ask for help.

I just don't ever want to see him compared again to the guys who did stick around to keep waiting on rings....Jordan and Dream come to mind immediately.
