Is LBJ the most influential and powerful liberal leader in history?

    In both power and influence FDR exceeds LBJ. How people viewed the relationship between the Federal government and society was completely different prior to FDR. The New Deal changed that perception almost as much as the Civil War did.

    FDR exceeds him in power, but I think what got passed during LBJ has/will have a greater impact on Americann society.

    I can largely agree with this. Bobby might have been number one, but for some unknown reason liberal/left leaders seem to be assassinated frequently.

    I was a huge supporter of Bobby Kennedy, and thought he was destined to be a great president. I actually thought more of him than I did Jack, although Jack was easily the better speechmaker. Seeing Bobby gunned down as it happened on TV late that night, after his California primary victory speech, ranks as one of the worst moments I've experienced.
