I mentioned it in the other thread, but the source on this Gerry Woelful is usually someone who makes things up a complete attention seeking troll/clown. He has a vendetta against Sanders ( he has with other Bucks players too) but the only small chance that he's right on this is based on that Sanders ex-agent was very vindictive and fed Woelful info on purpose to make his name even worse. So a very unreliable source.

If it happens then I will comment on the quality of a man a player and a character Sanders is.

I'd take Boozer over Sanders. We can use that defensive rebounding and FT shooting. We already have enough projects.

I hope he signs with the Mavs and leaves 2 months into the season.

So...the source of this rumor is a tweet where he said he was in Texas and then full blown speculation ensues?

Larry Sanders' on-court skill set (great paint/rim defender and dominant rebounder, great finisher) is the ideal on-court skillset to strengthen our depth and make us championship quality.

Defense and rebounding are critical to our success since our backup unit is built around getting stops and runouts. A healthy and sober Sanders would make that unit crazy good...especially playing alongside Capela. Those dual bigs would completely shut down the paint and with Brewer and Bev flying around and overplaying everything to the rim, it would be a straight up transition game for the 15 minutes they are in there and we would completely wipe the floor against other backup units.

I've been telling you for a long time that Capela is the biggest key to our success because he is the only guy we have behind Dwight that can possibly be a defensive stopper and the dominant rebounding presence when he is on the floor. But the problem is he lacks experience. And he could struggle if other vet bigs get physical with him down low. We need that 3rd crazy athletic 7-footer to give us uber levels of size, paint protection, and rebounding that we need to dominate the regular season and make it extremely difficult for us to be punched out in a 7-game series.

All that being said....it will not work if sanders don't have his head screwed on straight. But the risk is low on a 2-year non-guaranteed deal that you can trade away (with Terrence when he is traded) or release if necessary to clear him off the roster. IF we could get him to agree to a 2-year non-guaranteed deal with no guarantee dates other then the league mandated guarantee date than i'm down for it.

Sanders ruined a promising NBA career and gave up tens of millions of dollars because he did not want to play basketball as a profession. He is NOT going to suddenly sign with the Houston Rockets for the minimum. Also, I don't know that Morey is that interested in Sanders after the whole Royce White fiasco.

or the Royce White fiasco shows that Morey will take a chance on 'challenged' personalities.

We already know what quality of person he has been. He's been a cross between the Trailblazer version of Zach Randolph, the worst parts of Michael Vick, and throw in a little houseboat Latrell Sprewell on top of it. Boil all that together and throw in some street violent bully Aaron Hernandez and you have Larry Sanders. That's why I questioned the Bucks giving him that 4/44 deal several years ago when a lot of people thought it was a steal. I said at that time it could very well blow up in Milwaukee's face, as it did.

But that's neither here nor there at this point. He's been out of the league for a while. And it would have to be determined if he has changed, been humbled any, and if he does have a desire to return. You know, when guys go through their wad, and all of a sudden they realize they can't continue to live a crazy lifestyle, sometimes they do change...at least enough to become a positive component to a team.

Which is what happened with Zach. I wouldn't have given you a plugged nickel for Zach when he was in Portland. I thought he was headed to prison. He was despicable. Somewhere along the line, when he got to Memphis, he changed. And became at least respectable. Now I'm not a huge fan of Zach off-the-court today. But he did mature enough to carve out a nice career and become a true professional with his work habits enhanced and his personal habits suppressed. Sanders could very well recover a respectable career. It's a matter of does he want to? We don't know the answer to that question. But I think Morey is probably at least investigating to determine the possibility of a turnaround here. That is his job. Because Sanders has the type of skillset to put this team over the top.

If he WANTS to play basketball then sure! Non-guaranteed, and a chance to play for a contender. It's crazy how some guys dreams are to play in the NBA, and they would give anything to be in this league. The fact that he is where he is right now tells me pretty much everything I need to know about the guy. Lazy, unmotivated, and most likely a punk. Too bad... wasted talent at its finest...

Wait wait wait.... we are basing all of this discussion based on the fact that there is a picture of his name on a boarding pass to the Houston airport and his Twitter saying he landed in Texas?

Surely there could be no other possible explanation for his flying into a large intercontinental airport and him coming to the second largest state in the nation. It's obvious that he is planning to join the Rockets. He is probably having lunch with Morey, Alexander, McHale, Dwight, Hakeem, Clutch the mascot, the Toyota Center announcer and Kevin Willis right now. They are discussing Sanders joining the Rockets at a super minimum deal. So minimum in fact that he is going to pay the Rockets to play for them.

That is the only possible explanation here.
