March 2004 actually...T-Mac's lat great game as a Magic because 2 weeks later he shut it down for the season with a bad back.

It didn't matter, what defense can shut a prime offense player down for 5 points in 4th quarter + OT? And what defense did Tmac play when the offensive players get 24 in a quarter?

Kobe just made Tmac his b**** in that game, plain and simple.

Tracy had 31 pts in a qtr. You have a point though.

What i noticed is that one game, actually multiple ones in orlando he scored 50+ and would sit out the entire 4th if his team had a considerable lead, he could easily have scored 70 at the pace he was going in one of them but he sat down maybe with the mentality of not getting injured. But he was just as clutch as they get in his first year in houston so i don't really know. :(

Also that was when Kobe had Shaq right? He was scoreless in the first half or had like 2pts, but his team was still close, that shows you crappy the magic were. Tracy was right for wanting out, he has the heart to win and not for personal fame

Statistically speaking that was his worst year "in the clutch" as a Rockets. 06-07 was his best, 05-06 his 2nd best and 07-08 his 3rd best (to be noted, his passing stats in the clutch this year were the very best as a Houston Rocket).

I don't know if leading 15 points through 3 quarters can be called a close game. And again, it didn't matter how many points you get through first 3 quarters if you can't come out with a win in 4th. Tmac may be a better player through 3 quarter in his prime, but it's 4th quarter that separates great and good players. Kobe closed out Jazz with ease when he had Gasol, Tmac couldn't close out Jazz when he had YM, that's a big difference.

I can't believe Kobe got almost 83% of yall vote. I would take A prime Tracy over Kobe hands down.

    This thread is ludicrous!

    Kobe is better than T-Mac.

Kobe is never injured like T-Mac.
    Kobe doesnt make excuses.
    Kobe has more heart.
    Kobe has killer instinct.
    Kobe is a better leader.
    Kobe is relentless.
Kobe carries a team better than T-mac does.
    Kobe has an MVP trophy.
Kobe also has a scoring title.
    Kobe is more dedicated.
Kobe usually has better shoes than T-Mac

The only time I thought T-MAc was better than Kobe is the first season he played for the Rockets.

T-Mac is a better passer than Kobe.
T-Mac has better vision on the court.
T-mac may have more talent than Kobe but sometimes just doesnt know what to do with it.
T-Mac is more athletic than Kobe.
    T-Mac is afraid of Kobe.
T-Mac has also said Kobe is the best player in the league.
    T-Mac bows down to Kobe.

What are you talking about? One of his 50 pt performances, actually most of his 40+ pt performances he didn't play the entire 4th qrtr

Yao is making superstar salary the maximum allowable right now in the league. Dont gimme the $22mm cr ap because Yao would be making that too if it is allowed. He is a superstar by any standard yet he has not delivered as TMac has. So stop hating on TMac alone

Funny everything that you said TMac is better at is actually related to basketball. While everything that Kobe is better at are subjective mumbo jumbo and all about media perceptions. Heart? (heart got him what without Shaq?), better leader? (see shaqless), carries a team better? (see TMac in Orlando and see Kobe without shaq), making excuses? (wtf?) better shoes (see wtf).

Eeven now, if you replace Kobe with TMac in the current Lakers lineup and they are still contenders and can win it all. Replace TMac with Kobe, we still lose in the first round to Jazz without Yao. It's as simple as that.

Another big difference is guys like Lamar Odom and Derek Fisher having the best series' of their career.

kobe had gasol + lamar odom playing at a superior level, and a bench mob that is ridiculously good.

tmac had yao ming and nobody else. don't tell me kobe made them better by sitting on the bench when the bench is outplaying the other team's bench

kobe is a better individual player right now. move on. tmac is still great enough to lead us. he just needs to stay healthy and role players just gotta step up.

Ok, Tracy McGrady led his team WITHOUT his co best player Yao Ming to one of the NBA's best records 55 wins that included 22 straight.

Kobe Bryant doesn't lead his team better, and you FAIL by that, they carry it equaly.

Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady have both, two scoring titles and along with AI are only active players to achieve that.

TMac scared of Kobe? Tracy McGrady? 10 plus year veteran from Houston Rockets?

I'm not saying that TMac's better but you...
