When Kobe was at his peak, he was (at best) a very good defender when motivated. That said He was NEVER among the best wing defenders in the league, even when he gave it his all in the postseason. Certainly not in the class of a Jordan or Pippen. Even Phil Jackson said as much in his book. He's barely respectable these days.
i would say that as a primate, koby is overrated. he could be classified as a groundhog or maybe even a weasel . but he probably lactates so he definitely qualifies as a mammal
He is now. Watching a one legged tmac destroy him off the dribble and post him for a dunk just proved he is'nt what he used to be. Not to mention that coast to coast dunk. Even LBJ had a triple double when he was guarding him.
