no he is not soft like tmac...he gets to the line like 10 times per game last season...he looks for contact.
First of all, Roy is the second best SG in the west. Second, J Rich and Terry is not better than Martin but gets the rep because they play for good teams. Manu is terrible this year, that's why the spurs are willing to trade him. Plus OJ Mayo...I don't know if you saw this game this season but Mayo and Martin was going at it. I think it was double overtime but Mayo was getting torched horribly by Martin. Kevin Martin scored 48 points on him and Mayo just couldn't stop him. He made Mayo looked like a scrub that day.
I don't get why you guys hate on him so much? We gave up Landry because that' was his ceiling. He's not going to get much better than that. Plus Kevin Martin is what we needed. We needed a guy that can control the ball and score besides Brooks. Plus its only been his 3rd game and you guys are expecting him to put up 30 points. Who ever that is bashing him is pathetic. Don't really understand basketball and watch it for stats. Kevin Martin would make Ariza better and boost up Lowry's assist average. Plus the trade for him was better than Iggy anyway. The reason why some of ya don't like Martin and want Iggy because he dunks. But Kevin Martin is a much better scorer. Its only been his 3rd game and his last game against the Magic, that second half he looked great. He looked more comfortable and starting to get his touch back.
when we got tmac for Francis, he was a top 5 player in the league. We saw our record go from 40 wins to 50+. I dont see the rockets contending with Martin, and he is on a decline, he is shooting below .400 this year.
You can say that Martin was the best 2 guard that was AVAILABLE. But yeah, I would pretty much take any of those guys over him, except for maybe Richardson.
T-Mac back then was way better than Kevin Martin can ever hope to be. But we didn't have the supporting pieces back then which we have now
Why? If the system is good enough you can win like the Pistons. But we do need a superstar to win in the playoffs and I'm hesitant to call Yao a superstar.
The Magic are a contender with a similar team structure to the Rockets. A major player would help but well we'll see. More talent is always nice. But who would you wanna give up?
If we say the system and RA works then we need that player who consistently performs in the playoffs beside Yao. May Kev Mart or Aaron become that player. Pistons, uh? Not a good example. They were a defensive bunch by all means which had pretty good offensive output - chauncey, rip, wallace...chauncey was the playoffs MVP
True, but the Pistons still beat the best of the West in the Finals. Plus, you'll have to go back and see what the Pistons record against western conference teams.
Just trying to say you cannot imagine how much effort you can save facing bad teams 4 times a year and maybe a far less competitive team in the first round the playoffs. You can save your energy for the ECF and the Finals.
wow.. some of you ppl are crazy to think hes on the DECLINE ARE U SERIOUS? He just BROKE his wrist at the beg. of the season! It's gonna take time and i know im gonna enjoy the ride the entire way.
doesn't he go to the line more than anyone else in the league? isn't that one of his forte's? if so, why would anyone think he would be a soft player, obviously he's not.
Is this serious. After your spelling mistakes, I can't take you seriously. As far as potential, Martin has proven he's more than just potential. In the past three seasons, he's averaged 20.2, 23.7, and 24.6 ppg. Also, the one time that he made it to the playoffs in Sacramento, he averaged 28.2 ppg in the postseason.
