Yea I agree why couldn't we get a proven scorer. Ideally we would want someone who can average 24 pts on 45% shooting and maybe even 40% 3 pt shooting. He would get some rebounds and maybe even a few assists a game. If only there was some like that out there for Darrel to target.
That is true on the defensive end. But other than +/- and defensive stuff, scoring efficiency and getting to the free throw line is also a big Morey stat. Martin is probably the most efficient volume-scoring guard in the league over the past three seasons (not including this year). I don't think there's been another 20ppg guard with at true shooting percentage over 60%, and he did it three years in a row. I'm surprised Morey said "screw the stats" when you know that had to have been a stat that drew him to Martin. Despite the poor shooting I like the way he plays. He gets his shots totally within the flow of the offense, and they're all good shots. I have no doubt they will eventually start falling.
haha, i don't care what you think ... you don't think you have female fans here who appreciate basketball? so you don't agree with my use of the adjective "sweet," end of discussion. Can't get an intelligent conversation here.
Also, how can one be considered soft while being the most impressive player in the league at getting to the free throw line? Typically you must draw contact to draw fouls.
They did start falling in the second half, hitting 5 of 7 shots, and then AB simply ignored him. I haven't been that baffled in a long time. We still had a chance to pull it out in the second half, until Brooks had his brain freeze up, or whatever the hell happened to him. I couldn't believe it. If numerous others have already said the same thing, sorry. I went to bed early last night in disgust, not something I normally do at all.
To answer the OP, no, Kevin Martin is not softer than Tmac. Though Tmac is one of my favorite players in the NBA still (gotta have some faith, eh?) he just arrived to the Knicks and 2 games later he gets injured lol.... I just think Martin is trying to prove too much right now and he's sort of forcing shots a little too much. I think if we continue to run him off screens he's gonna start hitting those shots and hopefully when we get Lowry & Ariza back, we can do some real damage to close out this year. Regardless of if we make the playoffs or not, this is still a successful season in my eyes.
honestly, kevin martin is as soft defensively as tmac. He demeanor seems to be the same too, very lazy eyed, doesn't show that much emotion. With that being said, he seems like much more of a team player and is more effective offensively at this point in his career, I still like the trade but yes, there are some similarites between him a tmac. I don't think him or Yao will carry us to a championship, but adding another solid player might.
ppl who are emotional after a couple games tend to make these idiotic impulsive type of threads, stfu dude watch u be on the bandwagon once brooks FINALLY stats passin him the ball and his productivity skyrockets f that, wait till the real PG Lowry comes back that'll make Martin so much better in itself its hard for a 2 guard to get a rythm when his diminutive little shoot-first PG does NOT look for him at all its ridiculous u wait and see u fair weather flip flopper
What's your basis for this? The players you chose have pretty similar shooting percentages to Martin , with the exception being JRich, who shoots 71% from the line for his career. What makes Martin more efficient is he needs less shots to score. Since 06', he gets to the line at or around TWICE the rate of everyone on your list not named Roy.
Yep. Got to the line 9 times last night on only 14 shots. Brooks by comparison got to the line 3 times on 22 shots.
