He's crappy. Trade him to NOH with Thabeet, Hill, T-Will, Flynn, Dragic for Okafor and that top 3 pick. If the pick is unprotected, we'll throw in the NY pick too.
Its all about efficiency DD. Stu has a better reps per post average. You are the Allen Iverson of posters, jacking up posts from everywhere.
Isn't this kind of pathetic? "I'm the king of green bars next to my sig." It's like Steve Martin getting all excited in "The Jerk" when "the new phone books are here, the new phone books are here!....Look!....Johnson, Navin...Things are gonna start happening to me now."
it is kind of pathetic, but he was just responding to a derogatory comment about him. Moreover, if rep points meant nothing (and I concede, they mean very very little to me and probably a lot of long-time posters... I didn't even know how they worked for the longest time, not sure I still do?), then why have them at all. There have certainly been a number of respected posters who have pointed to their rep as some kind of BBS status symbol. Finally, give credit where credit is due. DD is oft wrong, but he started this thread a long time ago, and appears to be more right than wrong on this one. He didn't make an extremely bold prediction, but he made a prediction nonetheless that seems accurate. I would argue there is no reason to gloat like he has by bringing the thread back up, but then he is subject so often to the reminders or how wrong he typically is, can't really blame him in this case...
At least TMac was an all-star and has pushed into the 2nd round of the playoffs. KMart has been.....efficient.
TMac never made the 2nd round of the playoffs, he was on the shelf after self imposed career altering voluntary microfracture surgery. The team that made the 2nd round was all Scola, Brooks and Ming, with a little bit of Crazy sauce in Artest sprinkled in for toughness. Tracy was busy predicting a Lakers win over his team.
Should've traded him while we could, he's becoming a cry baby like T-mac now and purposefully hurting his value.
You know that is bull**** right? The actual interview question was who apart from the Rockets do you think would win the NBA championship.
Are you saying Kevin Martin doesn't care enough to play hard, or Kevin McHale doesn't care enough to keep him on the floor?
I liked Kevin Martin but I think the combination of Rick leaving and being traded (and then not) did him in. I would not say he's fools gold... He's not fooling anyone with his play this year. Trade him.
Kevin Martin should come off the bench as a 6th man. He might have a double digit quarter every other game and may explode for 25-30 pts on any given night. But when he's off, its ok, because he's a 6th man. That should be his role.
I think it's a combination of both. He just isn't a good fit in this offense, which is quite funny since DD has gone on record saying that this is an elementary offense. It doesn't take advantage of one of his biggest strengths, which is movement without the ball.
According to DD, a few months ago, it was the "system" that is damaging the player. The same system is apparently making Kyle Lowry's stats look better at the expense of the team, making Budinger and Martin suffer. Now, it's back to Martin has been a fool's gold all along and the system is fine again. To put it in a respectful manner, DD argues for and against himself, then when he wins against himself he parades around the board.
When are Martin haters going to realize that nothing has changed about Kevin Martin? The officiating is what has sent him into a spiral. He can't get the same foul calls he used to which leads to less free throws. This completely throws off the mans game. I really believe seeing all those FT's go in every game is what gives him his confidence. Without them he is often unable to find a rhythm and turns in games like last night. I hate to cry conspiracy, but it just seems funny to me and not far out of the realm of possibility that after an overview of last season the league and refs took a notice that Kevin Martin was tied with Durant for the most FT's made. Someone didn't like it and an emphasis was put on officiating that style of play with our boy Martin being the prime example. This year, no one gets the pump fake call LESS than Martin. I see it almost every other game I watch, but since Martin is the guy they seem to be looking out for he has to be absolutely mugged for them to blow the whistle. He certainly hasn't adjusted well, but I think with all the crazyness of this season taken into account I think it's hard to just write him off completely.
