I like that song too DD! Didn't know you were down with the Stone Roses <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/k4bHMVAKDao" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I was hoping for that but he's a Thabeet fan. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=5794933&highlight=thabeet#post5794933 Accordingly, I expect Hasheem to end up in alleyway chugging Drano with Charlie Sheen by Friday.
I think K-mart is developing in to a better scorer but he's just that. A scorer. If he had passing ability and played D he'd be a super star. Without those two things he's a 2nd tier star since his net impact on the game is limited to his ability to hit jumpers and get to the line.
IF this is fool gold I am all for it. Don't know if anyone else has noticed but the D is slowly but surely coming back to the team. Tonight will be the game where it will be tested and if they past this test it will be the start of something special.
Send him to the 2012 Games - he can wear a jester's hat and be Gold's Fool... The guy has been our best player for much of the season.
Martin to me is a good 2nd and great 3rd wheel on a team. He's a guy on a given night can put up points in bunches. Against the Hornets when it looked like they were going to run away and hide, he hit some shots to keep the rockets in it. Lost in the elation of the victory and deserved praise of martin was the 2 ft's in the last 7 mins of the game. He has to do better than that to me. Before anyone says he's like Allen and Miller, go back and watch how those guys turned it up another notch late in games to get open. Many opposing players will tell you that miller, allen, and even Rip had another gear they could kick in and would curl the screen tighter, flattened the down screen quicker, they had another level they could get to. If Martin is going to stop these disappearing acts, thats something he's going to have to do.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=200177 Jus' sayin'. Even if what you say is true, Martin still plays just as well as these guys played OVERALL, which means Martin plays better during the first three quarters. Do you understand how absurd it is to say things like this when comparing him to hall of famers?
Except Martin did turn it up a notch late in games this season. http://www.82games.com/1011/CSORT11.HTM On a per minute basis, his scoring during "clutch minutes" (last 5 min of game, neither team up by more than 5) is better than his overall numbers in almost every way. The numbers linked above are per 48 minutes (and thus looking really high), translating them to a per 31.6 minute basis (Martin is averaging 31.6 mpg), we have 26.6 points (compared to 23.3 ppg) on 14.5 FGA (compared to 15.2 FGA per game) and 12.1 FTA (compared to 8.6 FTA per game). His FG% during clutch time is 50% (compared to 44%), with 50% from the 3P arc (compared to 40%), and 80% from the line (down a bit from the 88% he normally shoots). Now, I'd still rather have a player who can create his own shots, and create shots for others (most likely an elite PG like Nash or a Kobe Bryant), but I'd still rather have Martin on my team in the clutch than not.
meh. when kmart scores well he basically negates his poor defense. but when he doesn't, its just embarrassing. I don't even think it's ability. I'm sure if Pop or JVG or Williams were coaching, he would be playing decent defense.
DD has stricken out with Martin and Brooks now. I fear for the development of Thabeet. Hasheem, channel your inner Hakeem. Don't turn into a Darkeem.
This thread was about defense and how his addition seemed to have an effect on the teams overall scrappiness. Why am I not surprised that people have twisted it to something entirely different? Sigh DD
A broken clock has a better success rate than you I'm afraid, at least twice a day it's correct... You have waited over a year.... Congrats.
the op is a short sighted troll that forgets k-mart was meant to complement yao and not be the primary focus of the offense. the op is oft wrong and will shy away from admitting mistakes but by having drawn such distinct lines so many times in the past, he quickly gravitates to bringing up the times that could be construed as being partially correct. let it go. your rep points are/were fools gold.
I am most certainly wrong at times, and right at times as well this is one of the right times. Yet, after losing 2000 rep points, I now have more than you in your 10 years on here. It is all good Stud - I would still buy you a beer. DD
