It does, but guys like Chuck wagon, Kyle, Courtney, Terrence and luis make up for his sub-par D with sheer hustle and determination for the rock. They set the tone. Martin's D isn't overly terrible, he plays the passing lanes well and at times can be a bug on that end of the floor (when he doesn't laze out)
Where is the love to our best consistent offensive player..! come on, you think it's easy to have 3 30+ pts game in a row? everyone is just expecting he should drop 20+ or 30+ each game..nobody will give a appreciation thread in the forum even when he sometimes drops 40+..I seriously think more respect should go to this guy in the clutch. Plus, Martin's defense is really not as bad as people said..i would not say his defense is great. But for sure he is on average. I don't see brooks or Chase or even miller has better defense than him...be fair to K-mart..!
Its unbelievable how selfish he is. He was like double teamed driving in the lane and instead of passing it to the open man he just threw the ball up and got lucky and got fouled.
his role is to make things happen on the offensive end. he is just doing his job, and he is very good at it.
I'd actually like Martin to be more selfish. Your statement has rarely been a criticism of Martin's over his entire career, and particularly, as it concerns Rockets fans, this whole year. The team desperately needs a closer, and while Martin is probably not that player, it was comforting to see him to put the team on his shoulders tonight. I don't fault his selfishness at all tonight. If he deferred as he usually does, we probably lose this game.
Congrats to Kevin Martin! Mannix tweets: Dwight Howard, Kevin Martin named conference players of the week. ÜberSocial • 2/28/11 1:37 PM Wasn't sure if this warranted a new thread, im sure Clutch will post something about it.
Not gonna search back through this thread right now at least, but Dakota admitted he was wrong right? Without Martin this team goes from pushing for an 8 seed mid lottery, to bottom of the barrel (which I know is what a lot of you want, but I prefer having a chance to win every night).
funny how this thread was like 4 stars when the rockets lost alot of games, and now its reduced to two stars now that the rockets won a couple of games.
Do you watch the games? Because he does that every game and it works with remarkable consistency. Is there a Wiki page for the word 'luck?' This guy needs it.
Next time Martin has an off night it will go back up to 4 stars again. These are the same people that wanted Scola "packaged away" for having one bad game yesterday.
