I know from the beginning that Kevin Martin is very, very good player, so far nothing is surprising me with his performance on this team, but one thing that impressed me most is that he seems to be very smart guy from his a short interview on the post game show. That would be a huge plus for a long investment.
Yes I do think they would sign for that little cause they are too old to get anything more then that. Yes Manu is getting up there in age, but I think he can still help us for 2 good years before he really starts to drop off. You give him the 3rd year to get him to sign here. Indeed we can still sign him in the off season, but I don't think Les would want to pay all that lux. tax.
We haven't said anything about T mac. I don't know what the heck you re reading. If you don't like what I have to say then just ignore me.
Hate to burst your bubble but we didnt start losing games after Landry left or near it. We started losing well before the TD and its not because we ran out of gas. Teams figured us out. Scouts did there jobs. Also you gamble. Gamble that Manu would go for the MLE. Is it possible, yes it is possible. But if another team offers a bit more then its a done deal.
You would rather have Manu Ginobili, who is 32 and in serious decline, over Kevin Martin, who is in his prime arguably the most efficient wing in the league? Numbers don't lie.
Completely agree. Seems to be flowing in our offense very nicely now that he's gotten a bit more comfortable. Him and AB play beautifully together. Kevin's got some great playmaking skills it looks like too. Just seems to know what to do with the ball in his hands.
yep...other than those 3 terrible passes and the step out of bounds martin has once again been pretty flawless on offense
The scary thing is that you can still see Martin sucking wind out there, meaning he's only going to get better. Without being in tip top game shape, he's pouring in points and getting to the line pretty much at will. I also think that his lack of game shape was a big factor in what people interpreted as "Brooks not passing him the ball" in the first couple of games. I'm guessing that the combination of Martin still getting in game shape and getting acquainted with the Rockets offense led to people thinking Brooks was intentionally trying to not look for him when he was really just trying to take the pressure off him. There were a couple of possessions where Brooks didn't hit him when he was open but that may have simply been Brooks making a bad read, something not uncommon for him, in general. People may have read too much into it. Also, a lot of the possessions with Brooks in the game start with a pass to one of the bigs in the high post. That's why you see Hayes having games like tonight with a bunch of assists. Brooks doesn't pound the ball looking to get the primary assist on every possession. It's not just that he isn't good enough to do that. While that's true, it's also not the way Adelman runs his offense. That's why you see Morey talking about secondary assists, which are even more common in an offense that isn't PG dominated.
He average around 3 assist per game so far in rox uniform. I'm guessing there's a few vids out there.
He has always been a good player, but the knock has always been his ability to stay on the court. So far so good, but lets re-evaluate after next season.
Why is this thread still going? He went from the Kings' "Evans-ball" to Adelman's offense. He took about 2 games to get acquainted with the offense. He's pretty darn good in this offense. /thread.
