some of us already knew he was this good. kevin is also much taller than brooks.. that's why he is able to draw more fouls, feel me

Yes Kevin Martin is a great scorer. But expect him to be a greater scorer in Houston. Because he mentioned that the Rockets offensive system is a scorer's dream.

Everyone was bashing him because he struggled in his first 2 and a half game. But tonight's game against the Jazz and yesterday against the Spurs, he went back to back 30 points and shooting at a very high percentage. This guy is raw. His offense is smooth. His jumpshot is one of a kind. He is a hell of a player.

Giving up Landry hurts but we got a guy that can literally give you 30 points on any given night. Plus him getting to the foul line a lot helps the Rockets because it gets us into the penalty early. The reason the Rockets were struggling as of lately is because Kyle Lowry is out. When Kyle Lowry gets back, Brooks doesn't have to endured so many minutes and he can help Kevin Martin score even more easier.

Or, I just always had him rated higher than the OP.

Dude, Kevin Martin is a way better FT shooter than Yao. With Houston, Kevin Martin is standing at 91% at the line. His career at the line is 85%. Plus Kevin Martin gets to the line more than Yao.

The thing is you don't get many guys above 7 ft who shoots above 80% from the stripe.

I am very happy for having Martin in our team. Someone posted a stat showing Martin has an higher rate of FT made than King James himself. That is an astounding fact if it is true.

When we get everbody healthy next year, coupled with decent backup center and hopefully a star PF, we are going to be dynamite.

This offseason will be long and exciting because Morey has some extra picks that he can use for trades or even move up in the draft. Morey knows what we need to have a complete team and he will get those needed pieces.

but Yao aint too shabby himself, we're talking about less than a 5% difference here, who cares.

Or more importantly, who will be taking the technical free throws next year, Yao or Martin? Martin has the ft % edge on Yao, but Yao has the tenure of being the Rockets technical ft shooter since his early years.

He is an elite player that is still recovering from an early season injury and is on a new team. The best is yet to come. If all the "if's" come true, the Rockets will contend next season.

Incidently, TMac has cratered since his first game. Last night, zero points on 0-3 shooting.

Martin will take the technical free throw. Yao will walk to the other side of the court for defense. It also allows him to walk instead of sprint there.

I think the reason AB doesnt gets calls is cuz hes a known complainer of the refs, and has a history of technical fouls. ..but then again that doesnt explain why yao doesnt get any fouls cuz he never complains

I am impressed by his passing and ballhandling. I always knew he was a great scorer, but just kinda assumed that was all he could do. I am impressed by his off the ball movement. His cuts to the basket. The fact that he is that active without the ball is why I feel he fits into Adelman's motion offense so much better than TJackOff. He is a hard worker, plays with heart and intensity. I love his game. I used to hear his defense is horrible, but after seeing him these first few games, it is bad BUT I am impressed by his ability to get into the passing the lanes, the fact that he is willing to take charges. And I think that will improve once we unteach everything Mussellman/Theus taught.

So far as a Rocket, Martin has shot only 39% from the field, 27% on threes.

And yet, he still has the highest TS% on the team (55.2%) because of all those free throws he attempts. That should only improve as the season comes to an end.

Anyone was questioning his ability to begin with? Why in the hell do you think we traded for the guy. This BBS is absolutely ridiculous, making assumptions about players after 1 or 2 games. Ugh.

BTW anyone who thinks we should have kept McGrady, his knee is already bothering him again.

Man, some people ( Rox's fan) will never be happy with Kevin! They always lookin' for a bad game from him to justify he "sucks"! And even he has a good game, they look for some weakness or flaws! It you are a true fan give him some support, he is a Rocket!

Man you are right on with your comments. I wish I would have made a list of all the fans that posted so many negative comments about Martin after his first 3 games. It was ridiculous. I bet those same people are on here now giving props to the guy.

Fairweather fan I'm not. Fairweather fans don't pay for NBA league pass every year since 2001! Where did I bash him? All I said was that I didn't know he was that good. Bro settle down. Don't add me as y'all with the lowry trade. Check my posts from last year, I did a video about the trade supporting it. Chill there brother or you gonna be a sad all alone old man!
