I know I'll get flamed, but hear me out. The guy has been nothing short of spectacular for Toronto this season. I think he will make a strong push for MVP if given more minutes. I also wouldn't be shocked to see Lowry traded in the very near future. Assists/TO ratio- Calderon is 1st among guards in Ast/TO per 48. He is also one of only 3 Guards in the league to average over 4 Asts/TO per 48 minutes. The other two are Paul, and Duhon. Calderon is 1st among all Guards in Assists/TO per 48 with 4.59. Assists- 3rd in the league among guards in Asts per 48, with 13.0. The only Guards averaging more are Paul, and Rondo. 3Pt Shooting- Calderon 10th in the league in 3Pt % per 48, with 42.8%. Of players who have made more 3 pointers, there are only 5 who have a better 2Pt %. These 5 players are Durant, Carter, Reddick, Bryant, and Batum. None of these averages a higher 3Pt% per 48 than Calderon. Calderon also has a higher 3Pt% than all those players. Calderon also has the highest 3Pt% of all those players if you only count gUards. Double-Doubles- Calderon has had 9 double-doubles in less than 30 minutes per game. No other Guards have more double doubles this season while playing less than 30 minutes. Only 8 guards have more double doubles while playing more than 30 minutes. None of these players get less than 30 minutes per game. Field Goal Percentage- Calderon is shooting almost 47% from the field, trailing only Parker, Rondo, Collison, Jack and Paul as Point Guards. Technically, Greg Smith would be 1st at 65%, but Calderon is much closer to actually qualifying in the point Guard rankings because he is a Point guard. The truth is I haven't actually ever seen this guy play, so I could be way off, but based on the numbers he is putting up, age, minutes and NBA experience, he might just be the most complete guard in the League if given minutes. Of course Paul is considered better, but he isn't leading his team on offense, and I'm not conviced he's a better defender. Paul is considered the best because of his D. Thoughts? Sorry in advance if my numbers are flawed.
The truth is i actually never read your thread(tldr). Is this the worst thread today? Yes, but there are still 3 hours left in the day, good luck.
Ridiculous thread. But if you watched him abuse Nash and the Lakers on Sunday, might make you wonder.
Well done Dr. I do appreciate your stats. I know you disagree with my question(kinda weird), but you left out that based on Calderon's minutes, age and production, then he should be in the conversation. Also, Calderon has hit his ceiling, while Drummond is improving by the game. "Imitation is the sincerest of flattery." Charles Caleb Colton
