Coming from an Aggie/someone who covers the Ags, so read it, take it FWIW.

    Billy Liucci:

    ...

Manziel and the Texans, with O'Brien? How does Johnny fit?

To me, sitting here today, it doesn't seem like a perfect fit. O'Brien, the Texans and how they've drafted in the past, going to the VY comparisons, the home state star, the Longhorn vs. Aggie element, the risks involved in each, it doesn't scream Houston Texans but they'd be making a big mistake if they leave Johnny Manziel out there, especially if he goes early in the draft, where people can go, "Wow, the Texans passed on him at one. Look at what he's done." ... Today, I feel confident in saying that it would be a pretty big mistake and one that could haunt the Texans a long time. I understand there are risks with Johnny. Yes, he is short. If you're going he's not prototypical, we want to see if he can get past the off-field distractions. I understand that's risky there but there will be so many teams that will overlook that risk and draft him because they believe in what he can do as a player, as a leader, and as a face of the franchise. He's got everything you need to be a great NFL QB minus about two inches in height.

Is Johnny a student of the game? O'Brien talked about Brady texting him on a Wednesday night about third down plays or different formations. How is Johnny in terms of being a student of the game or a gym rat?

I don't think he'll get texts from Johnny on a Wednesday night. I think I'm safe assuming that. I do think, if they sit down with Johnny and watch football film and talk the game out loud, Johnny will be as impressive as anyone. From talking to coaches that have coached him, coached against him, there's a certain element of football servant there. He remembers things. ... He has a great football memory and recall. ... A gym rat or not, that remains to be seen. Will he be first guy in, last guy out? I don't know. I'm also not sure he has to necessarily be that but at least be something close to that. I think people in the NFL, coaches and teammates alike, are gonna go in with a certain perception of what they'll get out of Johnny. His competitive streak, ... Johnny knows what people think of him. He knows the good. He knows the bad. People will be shocked. He'll go out of his way to prove everyone wrong like he always does. That works both ways. I'm gonna go hang 40 on Alabama because they don't think I can do it twice but it's also the "I know there are certain people who have low expectations for me in this certain department so I'm gonna go out and prove them wrong, just because, because they're wrong about me." He'll have that element about him as well when he gets to the NFL.

    ...

I wish Manziel could take his talents to South Beach. Dolphins got the wrong A&M QB :(

They had this conversation yesterday on Mike & Mike and Greeny was certain from meeting in person that he and Manziel were the same height (5'10 and a half). Also the same as Russell Wilson.

Also standby for his 40 yard time. If he clocks a good time could really help, that and satisfying height/weight measurements as you said.

huh? Manziel is 5'11 tops...Ive seen him in person. Im 5'11" and there is no way he is taller than me. He was wearing tennis shoes, as opposed to dress shoes (In the photos) that could easily add extra height. However, he's very solid as far as thickness...he's got 50 pounds on me.

If he runs a 4.5 and measures over 6'0 it's over with. If the Texans don't want him at #1, Cleveland probably definitely would.

We're now guessing on Manziel's height? Are we that bored? There is a combine for that. :)

Well, he looks 6'1 in this pic! But it could be the shoes.

And he's looks 5'11 in this pic!

Well I stood next to him, and I'm 6' and we were even!

But I stood next to him, and I'm 6' and he was definitely shorter!

If the Texans did draft Manziel, we would be the talk of the national media each Sunday, and I know uncle bob would love that. If Manziel has a good combine, there is probably a reasonable shot to see him drafted here. The issue is compatibility with the Head Coach. BOB seems to be headstrong, and expecting Manziel to be that way as well. They most likely will clash throughout the course of their career. My worst fear is that either Bridgewater or Manziel get drafted by the Jags, and the Jags become relevant bc of their play. That would be totally disastrous.
