Auburn did have less than a week to prepare for Manziel in a home game, and against FSU they had about 4....just saying.
Dilfer on Manziel..but yeah you guys know better lulz -Had him at his Elite 11 camp -Throws better than Bridgewater -Impressed with Johnny as a person -Rated arm as 7-7.5 out of 10 based on throws NFL QB's have to make in games -Anticipates -Compares him to Favre as far as instinct and having eyes in the back of his head
I know some will think this is ridiculous, but God I hope he is nothing like Favre if the Texans end up with him.
So the Texans would be willing to trade down and draft Manziel? Interesting. They are obviously stirring the pot to see what kind of offers they can get for the pick. I don't think it means they are sour on Bridgewater, though. More likely, they are just doing their homework and leaving no stone unturned. This is exactly how they should play it, since I don't believe the roster is ready to bark with the big dogs and extra picks would definitely help speed up the retooling process.
Their scouting departments usually start about 3 weeks before the opponent comes in to play. Manziel is a better player than Winston. No doubt about that.
The Texans just need a guy like Johnny. He's a cocky little b*stard with a competitive fire that is second to none. He will come in and immediately want to be the man. He's not afraid to get in a teammates face, he's not afraid of anything. The Texans need a guy like this. Manziel is everything the Texans are not. The Texans are conservative and bland, they need a guy like Johnny to shake things up. With Johnny at QB all eyes will be on the Texans. Let's not play it safe, let's go with the most exciting player in all of football.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Johnny Football: haven't heard the most glowing reviews from NFL people off the field, on field completely different story</p>— John Middlekauff (@JohnMiddlekauff) <a href="https://twitter.com/JohnMiddlekauff/statuses/420997803562000385">January 8, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If the Texans draft Johnny _ I hope it's because O'Brien wants him. Shanahan didn't want RG3 and Fisher didn't want Vince and it didn't work out too good.
I don't have a Dog in this fight because I'm neither Aggie nor Seminole, but from the fact that you're so adamant that he's Undoubtedly better, I know where your allegiance lies
I don't like the long layoff before the championship game. Teams could be rusty. Not using that as an excuse for Winston though. And wasn't Johnny a freshman last year and Florida was his 1st (or 2nd game) he ever played...? Don't really think it's fair to compare that to Teddy's game against Florida. But their total yardage was around the same and Johnny didn't throw an interception _ Teddy did...
If we want him we have to get him at 1 browns want manziel not teddy and even if they draft teddy jags will get him
I think Rick Smith has been giving the power to draft who he wants... Even in the press conference Obrien has stated hes the coach and will coach the players they give him.. I hope they sit down and evaluate everything together... Bob Mcnair has stated if there is an issue /or disagreement then they will go to him..
If Mcnair makes the decision dont be suprised if its Manziel.. it screams $$$ Remember he fired Kubiak after he benched Keenum for the 2nd time. At that time it was the only thing keeping the fans semi- intersting in the Texans/ and $$$
LOL, I just have never been too high on Winston. I think Bridgewater is better than Winston/Manziel. I think Manziel has the most potential out of all though. He may be a bust, but he will be fun as hell to watch.
Sammy Watkins looks like the next AJ. Guy should be considered if the Texan's decide there QB isn't going to be taken in the first round. Yes Remii, I actually wouldn't mind this either. Although it isn't a need, he is a stud.
Can we drop the $$$ bull****? He just fired an entire staff with $$$ remaining on their contracts That includes the highest paid DC in the league, a decision he left to someone else. He just paid a $6.5+ Million buyout to Penn State just to be able to pay their old coach more money. But of course, McNair doesn't give a **** about the team, just money. Which is why the last time a local potential #1 QB came out in 2006, they passed on him.
I agree with you, I think Bridgewater is a legit franchise type guy. I think his "NFL Floor" is a lot higher than the other QB's, but his ceiling may not be as high as some of the other QB's either (mainly JF).
