We lose last night if not for Dorsey. He played really good help defense and forced several turnovers with some big steals towards the end that led directly to points. I was actually sad for the first time when he was taken out of the game and glad when he was able to come back in. He anchored the defense.
I'll repeat what I said in the game thread. The guy has a pulse. He just might be useful. I grind my teeth when he strolls up to the line, but he's far from the only guy on the Rocks who is ruining my pearly whites. Dorsey's very, very strong, with a low center of gravity and long arms. He can be a defensive load down low, but a tall dude can shoot over him. Donuts probably does it all the time in practice. Uh, when they have practice.
This guy gets grief even when he does well. Joey and the bench brought the team back twice last night.
When Dwight sucked, McHale brought in the Dwight-look-alike and it worked. Then McHale pulled the look-a-like and put in the real Dwight and we lost.
kinda like in GM mode on NBA2k15... when you don't have 12 players, you're cap is maxed, and you can only offer the minimum... you're stuck with whatever schlub will take the contract. at the time, i'm guessing morey didnt have lots of options.
Dorsey has been playing good defense lately and i expect him to get better. I know many people on here bash him but his active hands are giving him some good mnts
You gotta wonder why we didn't pursue Ed Davis harder for the minimum. He's not built like a truck but he can backup both the 4 and 5 while rebounding and scoring efficiently around the bucket.
He's like a box of chocolates. You don't know what'll we get. But since the threat of being traded/waived when Smith came on board, he's been focused and avoiding silly mistakes. Keep going, Joey! We might need you to play heavy minutes with Dwight being ineffective.
Dorsey plays well without the ball. Most fans watch the ball and predicate their opinion on the few times he touches the ball offensively.
Oddly enough, Dorsey seemed to outplay Dwight against the Wiz. Had some pretty good defensive plays. Helped make the 2nd unit shine. At least give him some credit for that. Maybe he's coming around and getting healthy? But then, the first unit came in and promptly got left in the dust. Brutal
