Lin is going to be fine. Rockets fans may overrate/underrate Lin all day long but next year, I'm confident that he will improve.
The average fan doesn't seem to know or acknowledge that EVERY pg picks up their dribble all the time and ALL players have stinkers. It's just that Lins bad performances stick out in people's minds because he is so highly debated/hated on by most people. As an example, Lin has a couple of bad shooting games, he's the worst shooter in the league and we need a shooter people say.. but dude shot like 40% from 3 for the last 3 months of the season!! Will these fans even acknowledge how well he shot from 3 Abd how much he's improved over the course of the season? No. If he shot 50% would it have been different? No. The good games get thrown out and the bad games become indicative of what they already thought. It's just the way it is.

Next year will determine what his career will look like imo and I personally would live to see him shut all his naysayers up and help the Rockets to take the next step. I just hope that the all the haters who are 90% ignorant of basketball in general and what all pgs are like (they all pock up their dribble, all have bad shooting hames etc) and all the r****ded Wanna be Lin supporters who put down Bev (love Bev) or Harden can cut their bs out.

I don't think any team in the league would put him as their premier player, that would be franchise suicide.

Anyways, I think Lin is servicable and actually pretty good, the thing is I don't think he can play with another guard that dominates the ball. He probably needs a superstar big to help bring out his game.

The key is a big that can catch and finish ala Tyson Chandler in NY. If Dwight came, I would expect Lin's assists to go up 2 to 8 per game. If he can add an extra 3 points ala 1 more made 3PT to his game, he becomes a 17pt / 8as PG which is ... All Star!

I agree with the higlighted words and disagree with the ones I didn't highlight. I think Lin can be the star on Phoenix, Toronto, Orlando and a few others. I think a superstar big would bring the best out of him as long as he has the ball in his hands most of the time which, won't happen on the Rockets unless he changes his game.

I don't really understand what statistic shows that Lin isn't improving? His numbers have improved every month this year. And watching the linsanity highlights over again, it is very obvious that he has improved his game since last year, even without the gaudy numbers (although he has still put up several big games).

people have been using that excuse all season, at the beginning of the season lin fans were saying "just wait until the end of the season before you judge"

now its "wait until next year" and what if he still comes up average/less than average? is it just going to be another excuse saying "he's still young wait until next season?"

    its a cycle.

The bottom line is that there will always be a small contingent of low self esteem losers who will hate on anyone who is successful.

They just hope to annoy the sh-- out of you with their thousands of trolling rants, in a desperate plea for attention.

It's actually quite understandable: there are millions of aimless kids out there in a pre-apocalyptic economy making $8/hr, with no hope of advancement, addicted to video games, fat, couch potato, etc.; of course they're going to be jealous of someone rich, successful, and charismatic.

Their sniping is their power: hear them.....type!

Sign and trade Lin + Asik for Howard if Morey can. If not then he'll be here at least for 2 more years. Yes I'm comfortable with Lin but only if we can't absolutely get somebody like CP3 or Rose. Even then, it might still be better to concentrate on getting a quality PF than a PG. The reason is that it's much harder to get a quality big man. You have to pay a lot in order to get even just a decent one.

I don't understand? Lin + Asik are already signed. I don't think Howard would get any more money under new CBA. We can just sign Howard outright, we have enough cap space.

Howard is a drama queen. I can imagine a 3 hour ESPN special called "The Decision" We could have live crosses to bid committees in Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, LA, ...etc. We could have fireworks over Houston when he announces to sign.

He took Rockets to the playoffs by playing all 82 games in his first real season as a starter while having the roster overhauled 2 times (1 with KMART and Harden coming in, then other with the trades). If this doesn't sit well with you fans, then I don't think you can be satisfied at all.

I don't know any other PGs in the league that played all 82 games and took a team with team overhaul trades to playoffs in his first season as a starting PG for under 8 mil.

I want every doubters to really think about that for a second. If this sentence doesn't say anything to you, then I'm sorry for you because you won't recognize gold even if it hits your face.

No, but he was part of it. You can interpret however you want, but the fact that he was a key player that was part of the run still stands.

Well in hitman's defense you did say he took us to the playoffs. That saying is usually reserved for people who carried their teams most of the way. Can we say that without Jeremy we wouldnt be in the playoffs, no I don't think we can. He was definetly apart of it though.

I think Lin is worth 5 million in this new collective agreement however his off court values bump him up 2-3 million atleast and even more for bad teams, as such his contract is pretty even money.

I can say that without Jeremy, we wouldn't be in the playoffs. It's true for any of the starting 4 that we have. They all shared wins that contributed to our win-loss record. And we were barely 8th.

If you don't see improvement throughout next year, either he is not gonna improve or he will not thrive with the Rockets. I personally wouldn't wait for upside past next year. But then again, if he shoots 35%+ from 3, averages 15 & 7 and we win more than this year with a higher seeding and people still don't like Lin, it may just be a personal preference rather than a judgement on Lins actual fit here. Point blank, if he averages 15 & 8 shooting around 45% from the field and 35% from 3 and people still hate Lin then there's not much he can do to gain their respect. Unless he needs to average 18 & 8 to be considered a starting pg for the Rockets. I personally believe unless he averages All star numbers he would get hate for the rest of his career. Either way, it don't matter as long as we win make it past the first round.
