It's not so much that your opinion is incorrect; it's just that it's so unrealistic that it's essentially pointless.

With Harden and Aldridge, the Rockets would have 2 of the top 10 scorers in the NBA. Only OKC and Miami have that luxury.

Aldridge is also only 27, so his prime will last for a few more years. Then add Howard to the mix, who, despite his atrocious season in LA, is probably still the best center in the NBA.

You're advocating for the building of a superfriends team like Miami. Might as well hope to draft the next Tim Duncan with a late 1st round pick.

I have a question: are we to completely ignore the amazing games that Harden and Lin had together? I mean there have been quite a few of them. Yeah, small sample size, but doesn't ceiling mean highest potential that could be achieved? These two together have displayed they are lethal together. I'm all for taking risks, but would risking the existing chemistry + the potential of Lin and Harden together be really worthwhile? Remember, the more turnover the roster has, the longer the wait for a chip. Harden isn't gonna wait forever.

On the subject of Beverly, could he take over the starting PG spot? Hell yeah, if Lin slacks off. Honestly, I see Beverly as the 6th man who could keep the motor running. I haven't seen a lot of games where he can slow things down and facilitate. Lin has shown more potential as a facilitator IMO. But PBev is showing a hell of a lot of promise.

Lin and Bev can both play 30 mins/game next year if Bev keeps this up

I'm fine with Lin at point as long as we get another solid scoring option.

Dude why do you think we got Harden? Do you not know that getting several superstars is the plan? Have you not been paying attention? How unlikely was it that we got Harden. But we got him right? How likely was it that we would get Lin or Asik? not likely but it happened.

Aldridge has already said that liked Houston and what we are doing here. He and Dwight could easily choose to come here. Don't punish me because you are closeminded and pessimistic. Right now Maury is probably trying his best to find a way to get more superstars here. His next target after Dwight or J smith, is probably CP3, he probably wont get him but he will try. If I told you that we would have James Harden last year you wouldve said no way OKC gives us Harden right, because it's unrealistic right. But it happened.

Unlikely things happen in basketball everyday. How many people thought that Lebron and Bosh would go to Miami. No one did. So you saying something is unrealistic because of your inability to fathom it, is not my problem, it's yours. Ask Patrick Beverly how likely it was that he would be starting for a team in the playoffs. If I were to say I'm going to grow wings and fly, I would be saying something unrealistic. Saying that we could make trades for more superstars is not just realistic it's the plan.

Lin need to fix his ugly jump shot and learn how to recover if he dosn't start the game well, period.

Until then, please keep the lineup as it is for this series.

I like Lin, but they should bring him off the bench and work his way up like what he did in NY. I don't think he is ready to lead a team yet.

Man, if Bev keeps on progressing, then I may be coming around to that conclusion. Jeremy could run the second unit, and then play pretty much the final 8 minutes in the 4 quarter when he becomes clutch, and we can maybe go small sometimes the Harden/Lin/Beverly combo when the matchups are there. This would only be if Bev keeps progressing like this though...I think both Bev and Lin could get around 30min a game under this scenario. Plus, Harden needs to stop playing so many minutes anyways.

Harden needs to wake up and get his head out of his a**. He looks shellshocked, lol. I do believe Beverly fits better.

I'm not feeling Lin right now, but I just don't see Bev as a starter. He's perfect off the bench as the energy guy. Let him go 25 mins at full speed which is when he's effective.

That's the question right now. Keep on doing what has resulted in a win or take a chance with Lin in game 5?

If Lin can practice and is 100% healthy, I think he will start game 5.

Lin needs to show he can perform in the playoffs and this organization really needs him to play well, especially with Harden slumping and injured for the last couple of months.

If Brooks can contribute solidly like he did tonight. Beverly / Brooks is a better combo. One of the guys is actually a really good consistent shooter.

If Lin is healthy, we should roll out the same lineup we had in game 2, the Harden/Bev/Lin combo. The team was playing great in the first half, only down by 2, against a full strength OKC in their house. Then Lin got injured.

BTW: I really hope what you are saying could happen. I just do not see how this is related to the title you gave to this thread.

Even if Lin is ready for Game 5 he shouldn't be starting. Beverley deserves to start over him and Garcia also deserves to start for his solid defense on Durant.

Basically, Lin should replace Brooks (and it's a debate if he should at this point).

Tonight, when the ball was moving and players were moving, Parsons was actually the one running offense. Otherwise, we didn't really run any structured offense at all.

It's kind of silly to say Beverly is the future point guard of this team. I thought stagnant offense in recent games, including painful loss in game 3 and those frustrating possessions tonight, have given us enough evidence, that we need a PG to run the offense.

Being the best offensive weapon or defensive specialist does not equal to a point guard capable of running offense.

Right now, Lin is the closest one to be capable of that duty. Whether he's the PG of Rockets future, nobody knows, because nobody knows the direction this team is going, with our turnaround rate. So, why bother?

If we are going to get a better PG, I am all for it. But as of now, we can't afford to just have a good defender as PG. Harden played his best basketball in the beginning of the season, when he moved and played mixed with or off ball.
