Skip has a cooler nick name
while Linsanity is a KNICK name

    Skip has more street cred
    Lin has more sweet cred

Yeah Lin has the potential to be alot betetr than skip in the future, but as of right now, aspecially after watching Lin in the play-offs, they are about the same overall so far.

It's hilarious how few of the young members are posting in this thread. Most probably because they have to google who Skip was. Typically a Lin thread would be overrun by now with name calling and poor arguments.

The NBA's new definition of a streak shooter is "Rafer Alston." Look it up!

Can't see it. Potential is a misleading word. There's nothing about Lin's game that says he'll be anything but a great back up. Skip was a serviceable starting guard in the NBA.

Skip to my lou's tear drop was like mine. It doesnt go in. Lin could drive in the paint a little more. If it was a 1 on 1 game, I'd maybe say skip.

skip would shut lin down, better defender and lin only has one hand. Skip's handles allowed him to set up his teammates from any spot on the court and attack the paint willingly without sporadically throwing the ball to clutch fans in the second row. lin's potential is higher but who knows if he'll ever get pass his mental lapses or develop a left hand? At this point Rafer was proven, better, and could run a team. Kind of like jarret jack.

The playoffs lasted 6 games, and Lin was hurt for most of them.

That isn't a good time to draw a comparison.

Rafer was terrible in his first playoff series with us.

Thats why it's a terrible thread/question. As of now, you have to include Lin's playoff performance in the comparison and that's why Skip gets the nod.

Except for that time he helped the Magic get to the NBA Finals, he was playing well until they tried to justify a contract by playing a obviously injured Nelson.

After that is when Alston's career went down the tubes.

Alston's best moments were showing off that one game, and then tapping the other dude's head as a Magic player. He was an alright player.

His teardrop looked so beautiful going up, and then gravity kicked in.
