I think Jokic is only 1in taller than Sengun and Jokic got a few seasons on Sengun...I was sleeping on both players on how effective they can be with little athleticism, but how Jokic played last year with the right supporting cast, we can do the same thing if we build the right team with Sengun as our Center - not saying he's going to be the player we build around, but I think he's part of the equation moving forward. I will say the same thing about Jabari next season once he goes through his 3rd season
Right now, he's our central player where our offense is going to be build around. How he improves his defense will tell if this will become Sengun's team. If he continues to struggle against athletic bigs, we can only hide him so much in our defensive scheme which will make Sengun a defensive liability. However, Sengun has put in the work this summer, and I think he'll improve in that area...just don't know yet if he's going to be our player will build around - we have a new regime and they have a defense first mindset.

No, Jokic is not a great defender. Aaron Gordon helps him alot on the weak side defense. Go and rewatch that Hawks vs Rockets game on how they scheme against Sengun - they had a great offensive gameplan that exposed Sengun's defensive limitations. Don't get me wrong, I love Sengun! However, I'm curious on the direction of the team moving forward with Udoka for the next 3-5 years
Its ok to disagree on certain topics but I agree with you on this issue. I think Jokic is about an 1 or maybe 2 taller than Sengun but also what makes him more effective on the defensive end is his standing reach. He has extremely long arms. And Im not saying Sengun can not be apart of a championship team moving forward. Im just a fan giving my two cents. But to me, your center is your last line of defense and to me any team that has won a championship has always a center who could effect the paint on the defensive end. Jokic is so long, that all has to do is stand in the paint, that's not Sengun.
I agree, sometimes watching Sengun battle athletic skilled Big men can be nerve watching...at least Sengun wingspan is not as short as Desmond Bane - ole boy got dem mini Jurassic Park raptor arms!
