A bottom seed in the east is not contending!

Their "nice core of young players" has only got them 1 win!

No we are not but you can build around Scola because trying over the years to build a team around Yao has not worked bacause of his injuries.

Hi, I am Hakeem, I found my way onto the Rockets' roster after the Rockets were knocked out of the 1st round.

    Hold on...

I would take a shot on Randolph, trade the rights to a pick back to them plus Jeffries etc....and go to work with the young fella.

Hi, I am the weighted Lotto System, I found my way to the NBA in the 90s well after Hakeem was drafted in '84.

My ignorant? What is my ignorant?

My god, feels like I am talking to a brick wall here, how many teams in the NBA won the championship after years and years of getting knocked out of the 1st round?

Another thing for you to think about: The only reason we were able to contend was because we had a bad period and ended up with Francis and Yao.

I don't feel like continuing this conversation any further, this is getting ridiculous.

What are u an english teacher!?

Did we contend with Francis?? No we didn't!

Btw, your sig completely contradicts your argument! U say to stick with your team, yet your willing to trade away our players for a CHANCE at drafting a superstar! THAT IS IGNORANCE!

    .........

I am not an English teacher but it feels like I am talking to a 5 year old.

The Rockets were able to contend because we had 2 top 10 players in Yao and Tmac, follow so far? We got Yao because we managed to end up with the 1st overall pick and we got Tmac via a trade that involved Steve Francis who was another early draft choice we managed to obtain via trade if memory serves.

Would we have ended up with Yao Ming if we didn't have a bad year? I doubt it. To win you have to lose sometimes.

How does my sig contradict my argument? I am sticking with the Rockets no matter how good/bad they are. What does that have to do with suggesting that the Rockets should rebuild as the current team is unable to contend unless major moves are made?

Dude that'd be a smart 5 year old, i probably would've gone with like 9 year old or something!

Im not saying a high draft pick never works, im simply trying to say that it should never be your goal, especially after just a month into the season.

To me, wanting to trade away (in my opinion) one of the best PFs in the NBA shows that you have already given up on this team. Be patient, let us get brooks back, and if we continue to struggle then I ONLY hope we can get something out of the knicks draft picks! Meanwhile, ill continue want our team to try to win with the players we have, It is possible to rebuilt without plowing up your roster

lol you can be patient in the Eastern conference, not in the West. There are 10 teams clearly better than this Rockets team at full capacity. This roster is clearly not put together and RA's ran out of magic to use for this group

Definitely reloading...i dont think the team should settle for "tanking" so early in the season...this is the season to go all out and finally set in stone whether the yao experiment can continue or not. Going past this season, especially re-signing yao, without knowing the answer to this could have a horrible impact on the team's future. Reload on the fly, hope that yao can return to form by season's end and the team can squeak into the playoffs and who knows what may happen...if things dont workout, nash is easy to move this summer, let yao go, still get a lottery pick from NY and you have smith, martin, and hill still on the roster.....i think they owe it to the fans after so much hoopla and "promises" in the past few years. Not completely the team's fault, but gotta go out swinging.

I also would love to have nash mentor Ish....

i think he's just stuck in a bad position...its hard to win in this league with a center that's not very mobile and a PF that doesnt play defense. I think it's just a case where it's more realistic to move him than move a couple others and form a defensive squad around him...otherwise the team is stuck. Also, if the team is forced to rebuild Scola is the toughest vet/older player to get rid of. The others, Battier and Yao, are expiring contracts. Miller is still a quality back up center for the length of his contract rebuilding or not.

Lets try something else, why do you think the Rockets will bounce back?

I have mentioned this before, I thought the Rockets could bounce back too with the current roster but it slowly became clear to be that this was a personnel issue and not a chemistry issue, I want to know why you think we can get it together and which team's place in the playoffs would we take?

At some point, you have to consider that if trading Luis Scola consititutes tanking, you were never on a path for success anyway.

I'm not sure if Scola is even better than Landry was for us. How many times did Landry come through in the 4th for us or when we desperately needed a basket?

Half the times we can't even pass the ball to Scola in the 4th since he gets defended better.

We agree on that then, i am not saying we WILL bounce back, i am saying we CAN bounce back if brooks comes back and plays the way he did last year!

With that being said, even if we don't bounce back and we aren't contenders, ill take my chances with the New York pick and try to keep the core of players we have now (scola, martin, brooks, lowry, and some other bench guys)
