They could have at least kept the game close but no.. Blow out by 30. Also, at least Portland players keep their home floor their home floor unlike rockets. They let kd talk smack all over the home court.
OKC is a bad matchup and so is KD. has nothing to do with the blazers, I believe they are losing at home atm... This happens every yea and I will bump this when I'm right about Portland getting the 5th or 6th seed.
Update: They have the 2nd hardest schedule the 2nd half of the season and have had the 2nd easiest the first half...so chances are I'm right..
Incredible how they haven't had any injuries besides that early season one to CJ McCollum while every other Western Conference team has had significant injuries to multiple starters. That and easiest schedule = fool's gold record.
Tue 28 vs Memphis (about to lose) Mon 3 @ Washington Wed 5 @ New York Fri 7 @ Indiana Sat 8 @ Minnesota Tue 11 vs Oklahoma City Wed 12 @ L.A. Clippers Wed 19 vs San Antonio Portland next 7, they could be in some trouble
Ok, Its safe to say that memphis is going to win since they are up 81-56 at this point... Damn, even though we lost to memphis b2b we are still only going to be 4 games behind that after tonight..
Yeah the West is ridiculous this year... Considering the Spurs are now injury laden and the Trailblazers have a very hard schedule remaining, I think we are in a good position to make a move if our team can continue to improve and learn each other. The Heat in 2011 were 33-14 at this point, so we're not too far off.
they play the Raptors on Saturday. They'll have 3 days rest while the Raptors will be on the 2nd night of a back to back though. Plus the Blazers are at home.
Portland will fall out of the top 4 no question Grizz will make the playoffs not sure who's gonna drop out at 8 though maybe the suns/mavs
It was inevitable ... Jump shooting teams can be dangerous a lot of times IF they get hot but they can't maintain so high percentages for a series or season . I am not worried of Portland and GSW .
My friend the Blazers fan says the same thing. He was disgusted at their defense last night, again. Blazers need to play D and get a decent reserved big man before anyone will take them seriously, even if LMA throws up a near 30/20. Terry Stotts is a very creative offensive coach but can't coach the other end of the floor. He's the complete opposite of Frank Vogel.
LMA's shooting efficiency is actually the worst of his career, he's just taking more shots.52% TS is really not that good for a big man. Lillard is also a low percentage shooter, only 42%. They only have one player shooting over 47%, they have a great offense but it's really only because of shot volume (low TO's, lots of offensive rebounds) and hot 3Pt shooting.
Last 6 games: 4 Playoff teams (Rockets, Thunder, Warriors, Grizzlies): 0-4 2 Non-Playoff teams (Denver, Minnesota): 2-0 They will not have the same record as they did in the 1st half of the season, but if they continue to win the games they are supposed to..and win atleast half of the other games against playoff teams..we probably won't catch them. Let's hope that at worst case scenario..they atleast fall to 4th so we would play them in the first round rather than the Clippers
Not all Stotts fault. His team doesn't exactly have great defensive players.... Lillard can't defend a garbage can, Wesley Matthews is a mediocre defender at best, Robin Lopez is not a good rim protector. Batum and Aldridge are fairly good defenders but thats about it.
Well, let's see. They are: 1st in PPG 1st in RPG 3rd in APG That's ridiculous. The chink in the armor: 27th in OPPG so, yeah, we should take them very seriously - but they need to improve defensively to win it all.
