According to 82games.com, our most effective 5 man unit is Brooks-Lowry-Budinger-Landry-Andersen with a win% of 72.7%. The starting group, on the other hand is at 42.4%.

If we got offered the right package for T-mac.

Someone is going to get traded its going to be (Shane, Scola, Landry, Kyle).
I say this because contract wise, the Rockets may not want to pay them so high (Scola, Kyle and Landry in 1 year)

Yeah, he's a Paul Millsap type. I think he'll bring 7-9 million. I predict the same for Scola.

You just chastised Ariza for having a poor attitude, but you can't wait to bring Von back into the equation. This is a guy who got sent to the locker room during a key playoff game, and then got kicked off his team in Europe. You can't have it both ways.

If Von was worth it, somebody would have signed him by now. If he was that good, it would be worth it to pay him while he gets healthy. But apparently the rest of the league and Morey don't even think he's worth a cheap contract.

We are not trading Ariza, he is 24 and a defensive stopper. Every championship team needs one.

You're correct except replace "Ariza" with "Battier" and change "24" to "31."

Wow, I forget about this resource, and it's very telling.

You would think Shane would be in our winningest 5 but he has his games where he looks like a saviour and others where he just stinks up the place something awful, a la cabbage fart in an elevator.

It's amazing that Andersen is in there; or maybe not. Our other option at center is 6'5".

Ariza not being in there, hardly a stunner, given his shooting percentage. But then again, you do have Rick Adelman on the sideline exhorting him to, "Shoot, Annie Oakley, shoot!"

Come on, you can't compare a guy who wants to play, to a guy who is playing and placing blame on other players.

    They are not remotely related.

I am not saying Von is a saint, just a better value.

Horse hockey....Ariza has not been all that great on defense, in fact I am the most dissapointed in this area, he can't stay in front of anyone.

And he reaches.....instead of moves his feet.

He certainly isn't an immediate upgrade from Ron Artest in that area. Not even remotely close.

not as much as Trev. I watched the whole game and he was on Kobe more than Battier.

Just like in one play last night, Lamar Odom spinned around him so easily for a layup. Ariza is slow in positioning himself and gambles way too much. Very overrated defensively!

    Players I would trade:
T-Mac- Self evident. I would like to see him replaced with Iggy/Dalembert. Iggy is a borderline superstar and could easily rise to that status with the spotlight of Yao and a winning team like the Rockets. Dalembert is overpaid by about 5-6 million but he still gives you 8 rebounds in backup minutes (24mpg), he has size and length to be the perfect fit when Yao can only play around 28-30 mpg. Though his contract is awful, he fills a team need and for a "punishment" of getting Iggy it is a fair.
Ariza/Battier-Ariza has shown he will probably never rise to a number one option, and he isn't that good of a shooter nor defender. Everyone should have noticed this from his career stats, but his "stellar" championship run performances tricked more than a few people. Will he make a great role player when we get a star and yao returns? Time will tell, but i wouldn't bet on it. Battier is like the grandpa that lives in your guest room that spouts off great advice and baby sits your kids, but you kinda want your guest room back so you can put in a pool table. Sure he is great to have around, but he isn't a fancy new pool table. In a season or two his age will fully catch up to him and his feet will slow leaving him nothing more than a mentor for rookies, which isn't bad just not worth his contract.
Scola- pains me to say it, but I think he will be over valued this money loaded free agency. If the team isn't willing to spend into that lux tax then i think we should use him as trade bait and get something of use.
Lowry - He is a bulldog but until he learns to shoot he will be forever stuck in the backup role. On an ideal team Brooks would come off the bench as a scoring six man (ala ben gordon, JET, bobby jackson, nate robinson) and we would have a strong defensive team minded point guard as a starter (Lowry with a shot aka Kirk Hinirch)
    Cook/Taylor/Dorsey- Filler
