I think the rockets know that ariza can be part of a ring team because he has shown that. Shane is declining and ariza is his replacement. They're trying to get the toher parts into the equation. Now if we're talking about young player development, doesn't it make sense for chase to start in front of shane? Its not like shane is blowing the doors off at the other spot. Oh, but wait, he needs to download his info to chase right?
I really do like Chase as a player, but I see why one of his problem he has and prob. why he slipped in the draft. He's toooooooooooo unselfish and he lets the game come to him, and when he does that in the long stretches in a game he kind of disappears, while he lets the likes of Trevor and Kyle, just dominate the ball and look for their own shot. He needs a little Von Wafer in him.
Everybody is too busy listening to Bill and Matt gagging on his meat. "Those 3 days immensely helped shane"-bill. So I guess he needs another 3 days of rest to score 14 points?
That is fine too, but if you are trying to win games, and it is a meritocracy, you sit Trevor and start Shane and Cbud. While Shane seems to be declining, he still stays within himself, Trevor is killing this team. Either one could sit, and I hope Trevor is traded, because Shane's contract is expiring NEXT year.......and Trevor has 5 years left....and he is just not skilled enough to warrant that contract. Morey needs to find a sucker for his contract....Cleveland for Big Z....would be great. DD
I'm not talking about this game specifically, but most of the time Lowry and the second unit need to outscore the opposing team's bench to give us a chance at winning. This is because our starters are often at a disadvantage against the other team's starting lineup and are frequently outscored. If the starters don't lose too much ground and the bench players beat out their counterparts, we're usually winning or close to it. It's the reality of our current team. On the other hand, I agree with what you say about Budinger.
Agreed. I would love to see if he can be an efficient scorer and good defender on a consistent basis...
You're too busy blurting out negatives and hate toward Shane. Seriously, he is all you ever complain about. Sure, Shane isn't playing well or being consistently effective, but this is a team game and everyone is accountable, not just him. He is not the sole reason why we lose.
His contract is easy to move if they wanted to move him. He makes mle and 25% of that is about 3.5m or so. I don't think its really a matter of his struggles as much as the entire makeup of the entire roster. This team is what it is. They have alot of players who are kinda one way guys and adelman is doing a good job mixing and matching. I never thought ariza was even a 3rd option, but morey probably saw what everyone saw in the playoffs. Thats worth mle money from what i see. I said earlier in the year i would like chase to get 30 mins a night. I've said before that we're wasting our time with shane and he should be traded and just play the young guys. It will be harder to find someone to take the 7m shane makes vs the 5.5 trevor makes.
I don't agree, I think there is market for both of them....and I would rather have one more year of Shane (or at least have him as an expiring) over 5 more years of Ariza. Come on Leeb, he can't dribble the basketball......he can't pass it, he contorts his body to avoid contact going to the hole and he can't make freethrows. Not to mention he is a bad shooter...... The dude is not worth the MLE, we would have gotten more value out of signing Von for $1-2 million a year..... FF
He may not be ready to be 2nd creator and may never be able to attract defenses and create from scratch but he sure as hell would do better than Ariza is doing right now. He has more skills and fluidity than Ariza and has untapped potential, unlike Trevor.
Do you also confront the ariza, tmac, yao haters? 97% on this board like battier for the exception of me,kwame and leebigez.
What can shane do besides avoid the game period. U will not get a argument about von because i thought they should've resigned him, but having a declining player another year in decline is not smart. The fact you're ovelooking is ariza has shown he can take big shots and make them on the road in crucial games. Thats something shane has never shown he's capable of doing.
Sit TAZ, start Bud. Should give his ass a wake up call. Earn his way back to starting line up if he really wants to be a go to guy I'm tired of the slumping nights.
Oh come on Leeb, Shane could easily have played on the Lakers team last year and hit those shots. I mean you are making the Jack Haley argument..... Just because you contribute a bit to a championship team does not mean you are better than other players. Heck Barkley never won a ring but he was amazing....... Trevor got his ring, but unless he goes back to a team that can hide him and let him play 20mpg.....he won't win another one. Shane is not the best player in the world but he stays within his strengths, and helps the team in tons of ways. This is not a shane thread....go start one of your own. This is a SHOULD CHASE start thread.....and it seems your answer is yes. At least you are smart about that. DD
Oh really? Go look at what shane has done on the raod in the playoffs then get back at me. When have shane ever scored 13pt in the 3rd qt on the road? Point being again is if the rockets draft gay or brewer and not trade for shane or your bor jj, we wouldn't have these threads.
Yeah yeah we know..we know..... Too bad he is the 2nd best wing on the team right now, right behind Cbud. DD
LOL... DD questioning Adelmans decision making? before you were 100% behind him and Morey about how this is a development year and how everything their doing is for the betterment of the team. Isn't developing Ariza for the betterment of the team?
