All that's left is for Trevor to go up for a dunk, get hung on the rim, and then announce that he's having season ending knee-surgery...
Not high on Chase? Really? He has been really good this year, inconsistent, sure, but as a 21 year old rookie he has been great. And his skills are very high up there, he is already a better offensive wing than Trevor or Shane. Heck he is the best offensive wing on the team......and that says a lot. DD
1-6 doesn't tell the whole story. Rockets didn't lose ground when Lowry was running the show. He does other things like drawing charges, getting tough rebounds, move the ball around quickly to help Rockets, and he did a much better job defending Heinrich than Brooks, stopped him from penetration. The thing about staring Chase right now is I don't know if he can create offense if he is asked to do so. He seems to be a catch and shoot guy, a guy who knows how to get open, a guy who feeds off other players, not the type of draw defense and create guy. Chase deserve more time to try those things, or develop those things. But I don't know if he's ready to take Ariza's role as 2nd creator.
So one minute u applaud and talk about the greatness of rick and morey and the next u accuse them of staying true to a promise? Do you honestly think adelman made trevor a promise?
The starting lineup is going to change, one way or another, within the next month. Either a rotation change, or due to a trade. Adelman will probably stick with Ariza and Batter for some more games, and gradually ramp up Budinger's minutes. If the team loses a bunch of home games, I could see Battier getting knocked off and Budinger to replace him. Battier is the first guy subbed out anyway, so that would be the least disruptive change. I think Adelman likes the energy that he gets from Lowry, Landry, and Budinger though. Its like an extra boost he can count on each game. He may not want to break that up.
I do think Rick and DM are great, but that does not mean I agree with everything they do. As for the promise, I don't know.....and I certainly hope not..... But the wussies bit is in the lack of holding Trevor accountable for sucking..... The dude is flat out terrible right now, and this year has been awful....he needs a lot more pine.... The Lakers knew exactly what they were doing when they let him walk.... DD
1st of all, Ariza should not be classified as creator. At all. Not for himself, not for others, he and create shouldn't be allowed to be used together at all... Second, Chase had 3 assists tonight...he's got good court-vision IMO and he passes the ball well and CAN create off the pass...haven't yet seen if he can create a shot for himself consistently. I really dno't have any worries about Chase on the offensive end compared to Ariza at all...more just on the defensive end with his consistency or lack thereof.
If you think adelman would ever operate that way, well i don't know what to say. Early in the season i said gay was better than both our starters and you said no way. Care to rethink your ever changing opinion?
I think Battier should still start and Ariza should come off the bench. Maybe he will have more confidence coming in with Landry and Lowry, I think its a mind set, kind of like with Manu in the past. Start Shane sit Ariza
I voted no to start chase, but if were were to start him i would move shane to the bench, ariza to SF, and buddinger to SG. But if we get Iggy... Buddinger goes back to the bench and Iggy starts.
You really need to link posts, because you make stuff up all the time.... I would take Gay over Ariza every day of the week and would have before the season too. It is on Shane's value we disagree...... DD
Chase's assists are different from Ariza's. It's more like Chuc kHaye's assists to find open teammates without dribble, or in transition. Ariza is not a creator you would like to have as a 2nd option, I agree. But he's better than Battier, Hayes etc, and possibly Chase too, at this moment. We need to see more. I guess RA knows more in practice.
OMG, no he is not ...he is a terrible passer......most of his passes are behind their targets.... He gets some assists in the offense but Chase is soooooo far ahead of Trevor in this regard it is not even funny. DD
I don't know, I agree partially, but I've seen Chase go to the basket and find his teammates...I've seen him draw defenders and pass out to someone without looking, I definitely think he can do it and better than Ariza could ever dream he could because when Ariza dribbles fast towards defenders (more than 1), he typically loses the ball...or fumbles around with it and recovers it, etc...
