I don't. He's expendable just like everyone else that isn't in our future plans.

the impact he had on parsons was huge. When he plays with another legit center and not another undersized power forward, he gives you solid numbers. Better than david west and almost as much as mega superstars amare and boozer.
out of respect, maury should ship him to Sa if he does want to include him in "future plans".

Yes. Morey was absolutely right on the Gasol trade last year. Dragic was a blessing in disguise but that was impossible to call.

I agree. I'm not saying trade because he sucked. I'm saying trade him because we need to move on and find a core for the future especially if Morey can't net d12.

You can't have a future if you don't have a present.

Hell yes we should, its not like we are already a jumpshooting team as it is. We have a plethora of options in the post on offense, get rid of scolas no d playing ass.

My idea of starting this thread is that while Scola still have some values in the trading market and it's time to trade him cause we no longer have Yao and T-Mac and we won't have another super star shortly

Those dances are the only type of consistent post offense this team had in 2012. I'd rather keep it then lose them and gamble on an unknown.

I'd like to keep Scola unless we can package him for a superstar. He played well, especially late in the season, but McHale needs to stop playing him as a center.

Martin is done as far as I'm concerned. The Rockets might be able to get a late-first rounder and maybe some projects, kind of like they got for the Battier deal.

Thank you for saying that. I just thought now is the time for a thread like this. Draft Combine is coming and then the draft. We need a clear direction.

I agree that he is the only post-up threat down to the low post. However, don't you agree that his moves are getting more and more in-effective, and his turnover ratio is getting higher. I just think it is time for rockets to start other young PF, either P-Pat or draft someone, or D-Mo.
I want Luis Scola to stay to teach young bigs those moves but you are a good at certain skills on the court does not necessary mean you are a good teacher who is able to transfer you moves and experience to others. Look at P-pat's low post move. It is terrible.

I think Martin can net us more than we need from Battier deal, he was an expiring contract with leadership on the team, but he was already old and lost some of the elite premier Defense. Martin is 28 and he can give you a 15 pt/game easily who is able to space the court and upcoming expiring contract.

Tired of being stuck in mediocrity. Get the best deal you can for Scola and Martin. Blow up the entire team and start fresh. Only way th Rockets improve dramatically with the current roster is if they trade for D12.

What's the hurry to toss out Luis? With KMart we have somebody ready to fill his shoes as a starter in Courtney Lee, but if we get rid of Scola would you guys really want Patrick Patterson starting games? I'm not interested in tanking and neither is our management, so for the sake of reality let's just pretend that putting PatPat in the lineup for the sake of losing games is off the table.

If Scola has shown us anything it's that his "decline" is a bit exaggerated. Sure he's getting older, his right handed post up moves are well scouted, but he's still our 2nd most consistent contributor. I'm more than happy to trade him in the event that it brings back a better player but tossing him for scraps/exprings/non-lotto picks is foolish.

So when will the Rockets stop rotating picks and trades and start building some semblance of a core? Dreaming about getting a superstar or even a borderline one is getting old and the revolving door keeps going.
There is so much talk about building for the future but no one knows exactly what that is other than a truckful of if's and wishes. It seems like the solution here is trade trade trade with the only assurance of more trades and busted picks to come. Trade Scola, yeah, as if there are any other players there to be had who play harder and smarter than he does. The mediocrity just goes on and on.
