Dude! What are you smoking??? Nash is lightyears ahead of Steve Fancy as a pure PG. He has what you want from a PG - exceptional ballhandling and court vision, excellent field manager who runs the offense well, terrific passer and an automatic double-double in points and assists every night. He's also not the turnover machine that SF has become. Plus he is something SF is not: a REAL 3 point shooter. The Francis/Mobley backcourt is done - not only does it produce ugly disjointed basketball but with it you are playing 2 guys with the same slash & drive game. Guys whose game has been severely crippled by the advent of the zone D. Guys who still have not adjusted to the zone after 2 years. Guys who continue to commit the same mistakes over and over and over and over(and over and over and over...).

While Nash is not the greatest defender, there is no way that SF is better at D than Nash. SF is simply terrible at D and shows no inclination of ever changing. Never have I seen a guy expend so much energy to accomplish so little. That all said, there's no way Nash will ever become a Rocket. Thanks to the brilliant leadership of the illustrious CD, they have no high draft picks to trade nor do they have any room under the salary cap to sign someone of Nash's caliber and Nash will want the big bucks to leave Dallas.

Does any of you actually think that Nash is going to voluntarily come to Houston?

Last time I checked, we lost all 4 to Sac, which would seem to indicate that we'd probably be bounce in 4 in the playoffs facing them. It also occurred to me that we lost 3 games to Allas as well.

No way does Steve Nash come here.

    1. We can't sign him outright.

    2. On the off chance that Cuban doesn't want to dole out another max contract, why would he S&T Nash to us for Steve Francis, who's in a max contract???

    3. If anyone thinks he'd S&T Nash for the exception, why wouldn't he just let him walk and get the cap savings that way? Plus, How's he going to replace his PG hole?

Doesn't make sense from any angle.

Steve Nash is a special player; he would fit in well with the Rockets. Mark Cuban will probably give Nash a nice contract next year. If Dallas does not want Steve Nash, he will probably go back to Canada and play with Toronto.

I agree. Dirk and Nash, the pick and roll, really hard to defend. I can see re-build in Marv. But I would say maybe they'll make Dirk and Nash as their core, since they already are. They will let Finley walk, and Walker too. I don't want Walker, I would rather have Jameson. But can we have him? I doubt.

How would Nashes up tempo style fit into Rockets half court plodding offense?

How would Nash fit in to the Rockets defensive scheme - was he guarding Bibby in game 5?

I don't know that he would fit into either.

I think he can fit in the Rockets because of his court vision, his pass ability, his pick and rolls, most importantly, he can drive and dish or kick out. We just don't have that in the team. But I just don't there is anyway we can get him.

so you can look me in the eye and tell me that Nash is not a better point guard than Francis? How about 47% from the field (almost a down year), 1st in the league in assists/48, 6th in the league in assist/turnover.

the ultimate true point guard? maybe not. but as close to one as there is in the league today.

you have a major fixation with steve. i mean, steve is good, and he's got a great attitude, but there are certain players that are clearly better for the team. time for you to recognize that.

Huh, Nash is good a defender in terms of staying in front of people. He has qucik feet to match the fanatic pace tony parker likes has.

I love all of what you said here, including getting T-MAC. BUT, it sounds too good to be true.

Isn't this the same Nash got lit up by Biddy and missed shots at the end of the game.
What type of #'s would Steve put up if he was on Dallas. The middle wide open, shooters at every positions so defenders could not help. He would have a field day.

Nash is great. I like his style. But there is no chance Marvs would trade Nash for any Rockets other than Yao.

Nash is a very good PG with a great offensive game, He excels on the transition & open court game, but that is not the direction the Rockets try to move towards under JVG. Can you visualize the picture with Yao gasping for air from the back court , and Nash running upon & down the court?

He is good, but not for JVG.

my fixation is how we overcritisize our own
    while giving other team's players a mulligan . . .a bye

We say . . well steve nash had not choice . .it was late in the shot clock
Steve Francis does the same thing. . he is a ballhog . . jacker

    Steve lost the series
Steve Nash didn't. . . . lost his. . .we was just on the losing team

Oh, you forgot he tried to go 1 against 4 a couple times at their elimination game, shot an airball with defender on his face, a teammate wide open 10ft away. This guy is one of those who plays by his athletism, not his brain if he has one.
