forget to say that, his buddy buddy with ron artest. However you look at it, its all pros. As you be bringing in artest to play with yao and tmac in a familiar place, where he have rick as his coach and bonzi a former team mate who happens to play under the same coach.

    Bonzi- needsa 100% mind reset!
He need to know that his life style and mind set (attitude)along with the fact that he is mostly over the hill, will not garner him favour with NBA teams.
He needs a major makeover and then try to make a comeback. :p

He isn't needed on the rockets, we don't even have room for him, even if he was the madeover Bonzi refered to in my previous reference. :p

i'd say this, if Morey would've known that Head would suck in the playoffs, he wouldn't have pulled the trigger for Bobby Jackson. If we knew Head would disappear, I'd take Brooks/James taking the PG spot when Alston was out, and Bonzi replacing Head.

One thing I regret with losing Bonzi, is that we never really got a chance to see him play in the playoffs for us. Granted, he didn't do too well during the Hornets run, but their in a different system than us.

to answer the question, I would love to have him back, but only for Min, or even less than $2mil/yr

I dont understand why a Rox fan would hate on bonzi, he was more then decent for us last season and he didnt bolt, we traded him. We prob would have beaten the Jazz if he was still here.

He's def a better player than Head, under certain senario he could even come off the bench before 36 yr old Barry. If we could find a way to unload Head, and Bonzi still feels he has something to prove, hell yeah, pair him up with Ron, our 2nd unit can give spurs a run.

Bring Bonzi back. He can be effective for 15 mpg and he can take Head's spot. Plus, Bonzi might actually contribute in the playoffs unlike Luther. His signing will also help reduce the mpg of players you expect to log heavy mins during the playoffs, which means they would be fresher once may and june rolls around.

To do list: 1. Sign Landry, Deke, Dorsey
    2. Trade/release Luther Head
    3. Sign Bonzi

I wouldn't mind having him back either. Would also be a good insurance player if T-mac or Barry ever get injured. Would've helped during the Jazz series too. I also didn't realize after seeing that link that Alvin Choo posted, if bonzi played the same amount of minutes in 07-08 as in Sacramento, he would've put up the same numbers...so wouldn't be too bad, especially if we sign him for cheap. But definitely sign Landry and probably Deke first.

Luther Head is way better than Bonzi Wells.

    There.

    I said it...

For those who say 'Luther chokes in the playoffs' - go do some research on Bonzi in last years playoffs.

maybe you should research before you post....

    Bonzi
    3.7pts/2.6rbds/0.7ast

    sure does beat

    Luther
    0.8pts/0.4rbds/0.8ast

the sad part? I remember the Utah Game 4 where in the beginning when Tmac hobbled off the floor in the 1st qtr, Head came in, and the Jazz left him WIDE open for a 3 and he aired it, at that moment, I had enough. I was behind him for so long, but that was just the final straw. I'll route for him during the season if he's still on team, but he's has alot to prove to me in the playoffs.

If we are healthy and stiil have Head on our Roster- Head will get ZERO mins, so replacing him with Bonzt would be a waste of time. :p

Does anyone ever see Luther trying to dribble and pass the ball?

I can't see Bonzi Wells being happy getting a small contract and playing the role of the 10th or 11th man off the bench. Anyways, Head is better suited for that role.

There are enough perimeter players who can handle the ball now, so I don't think he'll be asked to do that as much this season.

He'll just be asked to spell the primary players once in a while and provide a shooting spark and energy off the bench as a third string guard. Barring injuries to the roster, he'll be fine.

At this point, I think he will be happy just to get a contract.

I would rather have Bonzi off the bench than Luther Head any day...but as someone already mentioned, I wonder if Bonzi would be happy with hardly any minutes on our team.

Maybe he would be happy just to get another contract, but another contract with us likely won't allow him to prove himself to get a better deal with another team later. If he is not looking to show his stuff and get a better deal later with another team, then I would question his committment to the game at this stage in his career.

On the other hand, he maybe would just like to be on a team like the Rockets just to get a ring this year and be able to contribute in anyway he can until he can figure out how to raise his value again. Maybe he hopes that he can become Robert Horry like in showing up big in the playoffs again even if he doesn't show well or gets lots of minutes in the regular season. He does know the Adelman system, so maybe that would make him more comfortable to believe that he can contribute more as well.

Are you serious. Bonzi is one of the most unselfish, Humble people you will ever meet. He doesn't care about the money. He wants to win a ring. He is all about the team. Sign him NOW!!!

Releasing a guaranteed contract for Raphael is just bad business. If we can get some value for Head in a trade then I might be okay with signing him. Even then, we can choose to sign Deke, Dorsey, and keep DJ. I also think Barry won't be used much until playoff time, so I trust that Adelmen can manage to give Bonzi some minutes if he signs.
