I odnt think so. i walk fine. my ear is alright, now.

but i get really bad wax buildup. to tha point where there tha doctors have to to stick this mini-scope in my ear to show tha inside of my ear on a big screen and clean it out. It even got so bad befoer that they had to flush my ear out.

Not a pleasant experience at all. And its about that time again for them to get cleaned

Types and Degrees of Hearing Loss

There are basically four degrees (countries outside of the United States may not use the same terms).

    * Mild - At 26-45 db, a little difficulty hearing speech. Even a mild hearing loss can be serious for children still learning to talk.
    * Moderate - At 46-65 db, more difficulty hearing speech.
    * Severe - At 66-85 db, a lot of difficulty hearing speech. It is at this level that we begin to use the term "deaf."
    * Profound - Anything over 85 db. With this level of hearing loss, hearing aids may or may not help; cochlear implants are often an option.

I take the cake on this.

I am over 85db and don't wear hearing aids anymore because they just don't work for me. I've been asked if I wanted to do cochlear implants. I declined to do this because it simply won't help me any better. There are cases of people with that surgery and it didn't work for them.

It depends on Yao's ear decibels to have anything to work. If he wants to leave it alone, then let him.

Oh well, yeah of course. i was implying in this thread that yao should get have a surgury. i know all about not wantng to surgury. They dont always work.

I was just curious if he could have a surgury to fix his ear.

This sounds like some sort of nerve damage, in which case there's little that can be done. I've had 12 surgeries on my left ear, starting when i was one. back then they used to take a piece of vein from your wrist and use it to patch the drum- i still have a few faint scars on my wrist from those operations.

bottom line, i have something of a bionic outer and middle ear- completely rebuilt canal, new drum, and a plastic prosthesis where the hammer/anvil/stirrup were. i also have next to no hearing on that side- can't use the phone, or carry on a conversation with anyone on my left side. and loud rooms? fuggeddaboutit.

    nerve's fine tho...
