Yeah, I don't get it either. At least, I don't get how they can not just be thin. I understand the psychology behind it. According to Freud, they are oral retentive and didn't get enough boob when they were babies. Now their main source of pleasure is through their mouths.

Anyway, all I see when I see obese people smoking is an early tombstone. Like someone else in this thread said (or was it the fat date thread?), if they're dead, we ain't paying for their medical care.

I've come to the conclusion that not everyone has the ability, time or work ethic to stay in shape...Some people are just plain lazy, but others, work hard and still have a little chub they'd like to lose...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I like all kinds of women, in all shapes and sizes...Now, that doesn't mean I'd personally date someone who is obese and out of shape, as it doesn't fit with what I'm looking for...My cousin for example, likes big women...I like thicker woman, but again, I don't discrimiate...

So yes, its ok to be fat, you just have to find the right person that accepts him/her in that way...

No pictures? What. Boring. I love fat people. I love the way their legs rub against each other (and almost start a fire). I love staring at the big butts in line at the grocery store. yumz

Some of you people do not have either a clue or a shred of decency concerning the human condition.

For their sake, I hope your children, do not have a weight problem, or are not ugly, or are not shy, or are not mentally or physically challenged in any way, or are not autistic, or are not clumsy, or unpopular, or passive, or gay, or lesbian, or unathletic...

What will you do, hide them from the world? Shun them? Join the others while they are ridiculed?

This thread is offensive and should be locked.

for my son's sake, i hope he's not chubby/fat growing up...i was when i was going through elementary and jr high...it wasn't very fun lemme tell ya...i think the only thing that saved me from getting treated "really bad" was the fact that i played sports very well...i was never "picked last" because of the way i looked or how much i weighed...

then when i got to High School i started lifting weights so the chubbyness was minimal...i was a class clown and a little cocky in high school eventhough i was a little chunky...it didn't bother me much...

eh, i don't think it should be locked...just a few opinions that could possibly hurt someone...you gotta have thick skin if you wanna post on forums man...

The biggest issue with fatness as a "condition" is that, in the great majority of cases, it is something a person can change. Less than 10% of Americans suffer from thyroid problems, and even many of those who do have problems can maintain a healthy weight if they don't over-eat.

In most cases, you cause yourself to be fat. You don't cause yourself to be gay, autistic, etc.

No, it's not ok to be fat because of health concerns.

I don't know why obese people continue to eat fatty food.

Has it ever occured to you that perhaps some people just can't afford to eat healthy?

Some people live paycheck to paycheck and even then come up short.

It's sad that healthy eating costs more.

I agree healthy eating costs more (unless you cook food yourself) but eating less is cheaper. Which will lead to losing weight.

I think they're either in denial or they have just given up on life.

I disagree, provided you cook for yourself. Chicken is dramatically cheaper than red meat. A serving of just about any produce is a lot cheaper than a serving of fries bought at a fast food joint. Where eating healthy gets expensive is in specialty drinks and food items like Kashi and other over-priced brands or "healthy" fast food restaurants like Subway and Quiznos.

The posts do not hurt nor offend me personally, but I abhor the needless desire by some to intentionally inflict emotional assault and battery on those who are different. For whatever reason.
