if you aren't listening to the analysis of john harris and david nuno you are really missing the two newest gems on the market i will self admit i listen to 1560 all the time so i am some what biased but when they first came on i didnt give them mush of a chance to stay on, but as the time has come on they have improved extemely, john harris is a college football guy foremost over everything, but he is definately expanding on his knowledge base and is very good, david nuno has i great range in ability to convey what he sees and think about different sports intelligently, i think wex and jackson are good, wex more so than matt, palillo is what he is, very good at analysis but very one dimensional in personality as for marc and andre, they are very limited other than football, they are restricted from true opinions by the company they work for and rarely offer much outside of what the company's thoughts are lance zierline to me is at the top of the class in the market, you might not like the format of the programming on the station, and you might not like the improvisational ramblings that go on, but you have to give these guys credit where it is due overall i think, with the excpetion of the rest of the 790 team and rich lord, the sportstalk market in houston is very good, as for the callers, there are good callers and bad callers, it's just like posters and threads here pretty much an equivalent of what is good and what is bad
I can't stand listening to Mark and Andre in the morning. I will admit they've improved, but it is still next to unlistenable. It drove me crazy when i would hear them constantly talking Texan's during the offseason. Umm, Rockets? Astros? I think that was a big mistake putting 2 football guru's on together. They should have split them up, or (my preferance) fired Andre. Matt, Adam and Wex are, in my opinion, head and shoulders above the rest. Charlie Palilo is right behind them, but not in their class. I try to listen to 1560 when 610 and 790 have commercials, but I usually can't stand it for more than a few minutes because they are constantly talking about non sport related topics, or the sound quality is just so bad I have to change the station. Fire Andre, only have Mark on during Texan's season, fire Rich Lord, and give Matt and Adam their own shows. Oh, and don't get me started on the monsters of the midday! I feel they're in the same class as Rich Lord except when there is something they don't know much about they BS their way through it acting like they know all about it. 610 afternoon is the only one I always listen to. If that goes to a commercial I switch over to 790. Oh, and did they get rid of the morning show on 790 that had Craig Roberts and....dam, I forgot the guys name. I wasn't a big fan of that, but at least it was listenable unlike 610 in the morning. Pugs
agreed, i remember getting out of high school, and working a sht job delivering food at night, and listening to the night shift with wexy and mattj was so fun @9:55pm celebrity birthdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays... here we go john and lance rome drive time teachers night shift good ole' days
I'm in the slim minority here, but Rich Lord is my favorite sports talk show host. I don't know..I remember when he was with Charlie a few years ago. Now with Matt Jackson which is a decent show. I like Matt, but sometimes when Rich asks or makes a point, Matt will be like 'what?' since he was sidetracked (I guess) while Rich was talking. My least favorite Houston sports host...HAS to be John Lopez. What a pompous man. Monsters of the Mid Day can get brutal to listen to. Someone tell John and Ted their not funny.
I've just become a 1560 fan......was listening to 610 on my way to work. Listening to Mark and Andre in the morning is just horrible. I do like Matt and Adam though....been going back and forth. My signal with 1560 sometimes isn’t good. I may put some aluminum on the Mercedes to get a better reception. Listening to 1560 in my office now. Get a new antenna 1560!
they moved these guys to the morning, I was actually getting used to listening to davies in the morning when I tuned in last week and much to my dismay I heard the nasal voiced imigination lacking musings of one mr. john lopez.
Unless you're a Cowgirl fan or a My Little Pony Mavs fan, you don't listen to that crap. Switch to Sirius to get national media or listen on the web to 1560 and the Adam Clanton Experience. Nothing compares to those two......others are douches. Rich Lord - major douche and needs to be kicked to the midnight crew. 610 needs to team Adam Clanton and Matt Jackson. That is a dynamic combo.
1560 and 610 compliment eachother well. WHen 1560 annoys me with excessive non-sports talk (some i like) i switch to 610. When 610 starts to get dry i switch back to 1560. Rich Lord, i guess i've learned to ignore him but he use to drive me crazy

tell this to kelli tonight. this thread has just reinforced my decision to never listen to sports radio again. the closest i come is doug gottlieb in the afternoons if i happen to be around the xm.
I've only listened a couple times while visiting houston in the past. It really was brutal to listen to. I just kept thinking that the show belonged in San Antonio discussing the spurs or something
