Is it just me or did the Grammy's get it right?

I agree on most. Dixie Chicks surprised me with the song--was better than expected. But still, somewhat boring. Actually exact same thought with Beyonce (cause her song on the radio is terrible imo). Chris Brown I enjoyed (it was "Run it") just cause I like his music..

And Christina's performance was pretty incredible

I think Chris Brown just suffered because he followed Robinson and Ritchie. His performance was entertaining, but we're still singing Tracks of My Tears 40+ years after it came out and Hello, while not my personal favorite, was a huge hit.

To follow that up with a less-than-memorable song seemed anticlimactic, especially since he was supposed to represent r&b music present.

I agree. I was never a huge fan of "Hello", but girls we were watching with loved it.

Truly was, to me a larger hit, but i'll throw a couple more in, because I'm a fan...

The Grammy's always sucked. They ignored most of the coolest music in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's...why be shocked that they are going for the safe now? There's all kinds of great music out there.

    Fixed.

I agree though, the Grammy's have always sucked.

To me, it's award is as significant and recognizing of musicianship and music as MTV's novelty little astronaut 'trophies'.

I agree, the Grammy's do suck. Most of the nominees are just pop icons who are judged by record sales. John Mayer and Corin Bailey Rae's albums have been panned critically by most self respecting music critics. The only reason why they win these award shows is because of radio friendly hits, and Clear Channel hyping the same 10 albums for most of the year.

If most average, casual FM listeners were exposed to the varying amount of lesser known acts out there they would revolt at the fact that FM is playing mostly trash these days. But I guess, people don't know and thus don't care.

Really? Because Rae's music has been promoted everywhere I've looked. To be honest, i hate promotion, unless it is fan-based, or deserved. Rae hasn't hit either objective. She's an industry slug. And don't you forget that.

The music industry is about the almighty dollar, and the grammy's pay homage to that.

That being said, there were a few things worth seeing last night, and I'm sure glad I'm not so "cool" that I didn't allow myself to enjoy them.

I got roped in because of (surprise) The Police...

    Police = Awesome

I didn't know John Mayer even played guitar. He was pretty good aside from his weird facial expressions.

Dixie Chicks were boring. Enough of that dumb song, play something better.

Beyonce was really boring. Really tired of her.

I liked the Carrie Underwood country medely, but the Eagles stuff was GHASTLY. I thought Rascal Flats was supposed to be good. I was embarrassed for them. Seriously, what a bunch of DORKS.

Damn, I missed Shakira??? I could have at least put it on mute so I could see her ass. The only thing she has going for her.

Mary J. was really annoying. I think she is totally overrated. Stop embellishing EVERY SINGLE NOTE. I really hate it when singers do that.

    Ludacris/Mary J/E,W&F were HORRIBLE.

James Blunt needs to be SHOT in the head. Please put that piece of human excrement out of his misery and save us from hearing that GOD AWFUL song ever again.

Xtina doing JB was a little disturbing. Again....PLEASE STOP EMBELLISHING EVERY SINGLE NOTE and just SING. JESUS!!!

Chili Peppers were HORRIBLE. Good LORD, what happened to my favorite band? Where did they go?? I haven't seen them since 1992. :(

One more thing....I hope Knarls Barkley enjoyed their night in the spotlight.....because next year at this time, no one will remember them.

No. You may not get an amen. That was a hurtful comment. He's just trying his best out there, no reason to bash the poor guy. He has enough problems as it is. :(

He needs to be shot as soon as possible. Today, preferably. And at very close range. Perhaps with a sawed off shotgun or a long range rifle. Maybe even a Tech 9. I'm not picky.

First of all, he was only there because of that one horrible song. No one will remember him in 6 months.

Second, he wouldn't let Weird Al put 'You're Pitiful' on his album. That right there tells you he takes himself and his silly song WAY too seriously.

Thirdly, and to me this is the most damning, he dissed The Police. While his girlfriend was flirting with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet (LOL), someone asked him what he thought about The Police coming back. He said "well, I hope they don't arrest me."

Jesus, what a douche. He's probably never heard of them.
