Samc- So you think the XFL will overtake the NFL? THey will obviously have more attitudes. Do some people like tha attitudes? Yes that's apparent on this conversation in this thread. But there are many others like myself who dislike what these guys do. Yeah I'm old school and I'm 29, and not that old. If you like to watch guys promote themselves that is great, but many of us don't. Emotion is a part of the game but these guys are a part of a team and should celebrate as a team and not as an individual in the spot-lite. So for my dollar I would rather watch a good team play that played as a team, than going to watch a bunch of guys self-promte themselves.
I agree with DaDakota, others... While I enjoy Steve's antics as much as the next guy, it's not like the guy isn't going to be exciting anymore if he stops doing this stuff. Anybody remember Clyde doing that a few times? NO? Well, I guess he was never an exciting player... Someone with as much athletic ability and basketball talent as Steve will be exciting to watch, regardless of if he keeps this up or not. And if it does come back to bite us in the ass by being the difference in a game, I think many will start to understand. ------------------ Jazzkiller
im hearing this crap about him costing us the game by doing it, well guess what, name me one freakin game where it has cost us or even come close to costing us the game. Little things like that dont affect the outcome of a game ------------------
Obviously, anyone that agrees with the rule can't dunk. If I could dunk, I would be hanging on the rim, slapping the backboard, and sayin "who's yo daddy" all at the same time. ------------------
No I don't think the XFL will overtake the NFL, because like I said its about entertainment, which includes good play. The XFL won't have any players who could make it in the NFL, and might not even be real football (could be staged). So its second-class, and people want to watch the best. But the NFL would do itself a favor by being less of a stickler at times. Self-congratulatory play gets old, but team celebration doesn't. I loved it when the Rams did that team celebration thing after one of their touchdowns, and the NFL responded by fining them. The Lambeau (sp?) leap is great for the fans. There's a line, I'll admit. Players should look like they're enjoying the game, without being jerks / poor sportsmen. ------------------ "Thirty-seven?" -Randall, Clerks www.clutchtown.com
