Out of those threee though Obama's association with Rev. Wright was the one that was the most damaging to him politically. The power of the video of Wright yelling "******* America!" had a greater impact on voters than trying to figure out what sort of relationship Obama had with Rezko or with a 40 year old bomber.

It may be more sensational in presentation, but it's far less important. But If we are going to talk about what has the biggest impact in all of this, I think it would be the keating 5 situation.

    1. Because it deals more with the huge economic situation people are dealing with.

    2. It isn't something being rehashed in this campaign season. It's something new to this campaign season.

John King on CNN said it best, and I'll paraphrase: "At this point, do you think the undecided voters really care about Ayers or the Keating Five? Because they don't give a damn. They're worried about their jobs, health insurance, etc."

What's more important isn't always what has a greater affect on the polls.

That's another thing I'm worried about.

Remember the film of the guy in UN years ago that stood at the podium and said something like, "give us a man, be he god or devil, that will get us out of this mess" or something or other.

    The indifference just bothers me.

I understand having real issues facing us all... or prioritizing those issues... but I can't understand why no one has brought up the newest attachments in the Ayers issues in here, this most notably politically educated bbs forum.

I guess it won't matter in the long run.

At least I hope it won't.

I don't think it's indifference. I'm not indifferent to Ayers violent activities. I firmly detest them. However, there is no significant link between him and Obama so in terms of the election it just isn't an issue.

While Ayers did bad things 40 years ago, there are people then and now who did far worse so he isn't at the top of the concern list. And since Obama isn't really connected in any real manner it doesn't matter.
