Is Harden not appreciated enough by media because of the way he plays?

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by DMO (DJ remix), Feb 14, 2017.

?

Harden's game doesn't appeal some people that's why they hate on his game

  1. Yes, they will hang on WB's nuts because he can dunk hard even if he goes 3-19

  2. No, they just hate Rockets, hence they hate Harden

  3. They don't even watch Rockets much , but in order to be "experts" they need to hate on someone

  4. Clearly in disguise Dmo Topic

And by that i mean, he doesn't dunk as much as the likes of Westbrook and etc. his game is all about craft and all those kids (and wankers like Kellerman) know is flashy stuff.

Those poll options are tinman-esque in terms of bias and not allowing a different narrative, nice.

Can't two ppl vote the same way? Not our fault you didn't give us the conspiracy option.

Maybe that's all of the above in your poll

I think it is his game and his off court persona. I think the NBA and the media wants to promote a more wholesome family oriented type of player. Being involved with a Kardashian also didn't help.

I love his game but I can see how a fan from another team might not like him. Especially if they don't watch him play nightly.

Harden's style of play is a very deliberate and efficient style of play. And that style doesn't always translate to Highlights and VINES. It is just perception. And people look at Westbrook and see how he plays. He plays with "so much force" all the time, that it resonates with audiences. And that builds the narrative.

Westbrooks defense isn't better than Harden's. He just players with more "force" and to most eyes, force = better.

No one cares about Harden's free throws or suckering people into fouling him on the 3pt line. Only Rockets fans care about that because it is efficient.

The efficiency should translate into TEAM wins. And the Rockets are #3 in the conference. Thunder are #7.

People had no problem worshiping Nash's game without dunks or the traditional flash. Harden's having a hard time shaking his past reputation. His defense has been decent this season, yet people still think he's terrible. Westbrook had a ballhog reputation too and it took years to shake. Media narratives and viral campaigns are hard to forget.
