I'm not a Lin fan..and Harden has been garbage for months. That's a fact. If you're burnt out/injured pass the ball. Stop bricking jumpshots.
I'm sorry but does Skyrimownsall think about anything other than Lin? I bet he dreams about Lin every night.
Averaging 26 is great but at what FG%? Anyways, I hope he can improve and truly become a superstar that will lead this team to a championship. Updated list. He's averaging more points than when he was efficient. That is actually a bad thing. It means he's jacking up more shots at an inefficient rate.
then sub him, call him out, or tell him to move the ball. Mchale calls the ISO plays, he feels Harden can win him ball games at the expense of the team concept. Mchale needs to utilize Harden's talents to make it difficult for the other team to get a read on the team's sets, not ISO all the time
It's mostly his threes. If you just take his 2PFG% he is doing well. His threes have completely died, and this is somewhat to do with taking bad threes. He should be more patient and just take the open threes and live with them if they miss. He is pressing at times and I think he really wants to push this team to win but too much by his own hands this series.
They made it as a team, Harden is not Kobe and this isnt the Kwame Brown/Smush Parker Lakers, why discount the rest of the team by saying "he carried them". Harden doesn't get Rockets to the playoffs without Asik manning the defense, Parsons being a jack of all trades, etc. etc. and vice versa. Could Harden bring the Bobcats to the playoffs? Highly doubt it, there's talent on the Rockets' team. You can even make the case that we're not in the playoffs if the other lower west teams weren't decimated by injuries. Dallas, Utah, Minny and Lakers would have made it hard to get that 8th spot.
exactly....these people are delusional if they don't think Harden needs the team just as much as they need him. If Harden was traded for kyrie irving or john wall tomorrow the wizards and cavs would still be lottery teams. You think either team would be able to be the Thunder with harden having such a sub-par game? Melo drops 30 a night and still gets blamed for every knick loss...guess what, you're the max/franchise/superstar player, you either lead the team to victory or you dont. You cant shoot that poorly and get away with it when you don't win.
...just going by FG% has to be the most overrated stat in the NBA surely though. The guys who lead this stat or usually guys who don't take many shots or big men. Just look at the leaders for FG% and you'll see that. He has to take tougher shots and more shots now, of course it's going to go down...and if he were playing with Chris Paul and Dwight Howard I'm sure it would go through the roof. Also FG% does not account for the points he scores at the line which are still very much part of the game.
You know why? Because some people want to put the entire loss of the team at his feet so if you are going to do that then you have to put the entirety of the teams wins at his feet as well. Also Harden has had a bigger impact than his other team mates and Win Shares show that. Not only do the stats show that but he was voted to the all-star game and ESPN even rated him as a top 10 player for the regular season. It's unfair to say just replace him with Wall or Irving. That's a argument that can't even be debated because it's based on if's and but's. The fact is Harden's team is in the playoffs and Wall's team is not. Oh and speaking of Wall's team it goes to show you how much impact some of these guys have...because once Wall returned his team actually played really well and finished around .500 I believe. That's because he's a good player that makes things easier for everyone. But it's impossible to know if Kyrie or Wall would have the same effect. Kyrie would probably be hurt....
This has been an ongoing trend for at least the past 2 months, if not 3. His efficiency has plummeted, his TO's have increased, his dribble dribble dribble out the clock and chuck a 3 game, utterly predictable, and generally ineffective. Mchale's comments at the half were telling, after harden was approaching double digit TO's: "we KNOW he can make good plays." Mchale obviously has a double standard: harden can do no wrong, lin can't do anything right. Did you see anyone from the coaching staff barking at harden or calling a timeout after his endless series of turnovers? Of course not. Do you see the coaching staff calling timeouts and getting in lin's face yelling if he commits just ONE turnover? Of course. Followed by a benching for the duration of the 4th quarter. Jeremy's got to set aside this "turn the other cheek" choir boy b.s. and stand up for himself.... spoiler alert: (it'll never happen).
heh? it doesnt matter if kyrie's hurt, I'm saying if you put Harden in Cleveland in place of Kyrie Irving, that is not a playoff team. That's a fact, no ifs ands or buts about it. YOu need a LeBron James type player to take a team like that anywhere, clearly Harden is nowhere near that level. There's no debate Harden's teammates are far superior than other similar type/level players.
The myth is that Harden is a great playmaker.. He is a good passer.. but he is not a great play maker. His passing is effective when there is good off ball movement. Pick n Roll / Cuts.. But when he gets the ball at the top of the key in to ISO mode with no off ball movements the play essentially stops. Now I don't know if this is on Harden / coaching staff / other players, but everyone just seems to stop when Harden gets the ball at the top of the key and the ball gets ' sticky' ..
No it's not a fact at all. That's like those stupid Lebron-Kobe debates a few years back "Well if you put Lebron on the Lakers..." What's the point? You really don't know that. And we don't know if the 90s Bulls would beat the current version of the Heat...what's the point? Supposedly Nash/Dwight/Kobe/Pau/Artest was a top 3 team in the West and a contender....nope. You really don't know. The East sucked and one thing is for sure, Harden would have played more games than Kyrie had and it's not like he had to have won 40+ games to put the team in the playoffs. According to win shares Harden would have added 12 wins to the Cavs and that would have put them at 36 wins...two behind the Bucks 38 wins...and this is against a tougher Western conference. With how he dominated some East coast teams like the Pistons and Hawks I'm sure he'd love to see those two teams two more times. But again, this is a fantasy debate. I know one thing. He's a much better player than Irving is now...so he'd have a bigger impact than Irving does.
LOL by your silly logic, if the rockets didnt have harden they still might've miraculously made the playoffs. So when are you going to call out people who say this would be a lottery team without Harden?? You cant have it both ways.
