I don't think any former player has made more out of simply a good college career. He was pretty awful in the NBA, and he's made out to be some "expert", when really he was not a great fundamental basketball player. But you gotta love them running rebels!
In 1994, in game 5 of the finals, I credit the series turning on one event involving Hakeem and Greg Anthony. No one saw it because of the OJ chase. But Hakeem landed a deliberate elbow to Gregs face. Both teams went after each other. Vernon lead the Rockets charge but it got broken up before anything major happened. The series was not the same after that moment. Rockets lost the game but won the war. I really saw a difference in how the Rockets played after it. Knicks realized they were not going to push us around anymore.
The Rockets won with Greg Anthony commentating so, no, he is not bad. I hope either Jeff Van Gundy (who helped win game 3) or Greg Anthony does game 5. Say no to Chris Webber and Reggie Miller.
I just found him unbearable all game, really bias toward Portland... Until the last 2 minutes in the game when it looked like we had control of the game
