So which one is he so far in his NBA career?

The Stromile Swift dummy type or "insert whatever untapped potential player name"?

Also, can he technically park in the handicap spot?

    Both

Anyone with that much athleticism is high potential.

But he's the Stromile Swift of the backcourt.

At 21 years of age it is honestly tough to tell.

I watched him play against the Celtics a couple of weeks ago, and the Celtics announcers were talking about him having tons of potential, but not the mental IQ to play the game.

Then later in the same telecast they started commenting on how much better he had gotten, especially since he was now pulling up and shooting and hitting the midrange shot which is something they said he never could grasp in Boston.

So, is he a guy who is just too stupid to get it, or is he a guy that is still only 21, and has a chance.

Honestly, I have no idea, but it is a low risk move to find out.

He's not very bright (at least regarding to basketball), but he has good form on his jumper and a ton of athleticism. He could have some untapped potential, or he could be a bust. It's worth getting him to find out.

If the Rockets ever have a dunk contest, well we got a good canidate, but for the play-offs, we look weaker.

Gonna go with low bball IQ. He is the prototype NBA star athlete. Thought he would be a sure thing when he came in the league. At this point other than him studying tracy's game and mirroring I don't see any hope for him. He used to be able to shoot the 3 in GS too.

IMO, Gerald Green is more intelligent than Stro. Will he ever work hard enough on developing skills? I dunno.

He hardly played on the worst team in the NBA.
He was the only player on the roster not to start a game.Again on the worst team in the NBA

He is a bust! But at least it hardly cost anything to roll the dice with this one.

The man is missing a finger, he's going to have to learn to shoot with his off hand.

Maybe he is a bust, but he is only 21 years old, and may just need some good coaching....and some good players to emulate....he has those here.

And Snyder has been a bust too....so we traded one older bust for another younger one.......

How are we going to find out when he's going to get DNPs most likely for the rest of the season? We're in the middle of a playoff chase and I don't see Adelman giving Green any minutes.

    Europe here we come.

PS. Snyder is only 3 years older then Green.

Sorry I should have mentioned also lazy and no work ethic in my poll.

Perhaps, but at least we get him in practices, and in the summer leagues...

One thing that is unclear, is can the Rockets pick up his option now?

    What option?

Hoopshype (which I admit is unreliable sometimes) has this year as his last year in the contract.

Low IQ, questionable work ethic. Very well might be Stromile, but Swift had 5 years proving who he was before we brought him in, allowing a few of us to know we were getting a unlikely-win scenario.

Green's only on his 3rd yr and could still get going. McGrady's first two years were similar to Green's and he needed a come-to-Jesus moment with the coaches before he understood he had to take his game seriously.

Green is not a sure thing. He could become a great open court weapon but has got to get smarter on defense and develop enough of a jumper that he's not a complete liability in those areas. Adelman's not much of a teacher, so this may all depend on Green realizing he's not going to stick in the league unless he improves his game.

He rides bulls in the offseason. That's how we know he's not very smart.

A better view of the missing digit.

Apparently he was wearing a ring when he was younger and it got caught on a nail.

And V3.0......I think the Timberwolves declined to pick up his option, but I am wondering if the Rockets can excercise it.
