OOPS!!!  I forgot about that! My BAD!

Anyway, my point was that Steve & Yao, while they are leaders of the team, are still just employees of the rockets. They aren't obligated to attend Van Gundy,s welcoming news anymore than the rest of the Rockets employees. The only thing they are obligated to do is to show up at camp ready to work thier butts off for a new coach!

    And make the playoffs!!:D

When you pretty much demand a trade before you ever suit up (what he did to the Grizz), then that is "just cause".

I agree 100%. Until Francis shows commitment on defense, he will always be a target of criticism from me. I wish he could at least pretend to care on defense.

So, he'll never win in your book, huh? That was four years ago, I think it's time to get over it, LakerBoy.

Stevie will prove his many critics wrong this year when he has a coach with an actual plan. His defense will also improve because the TEAM defense will improve. Defense isn't all about shutting your man down. You have to have a team plan and the discipline to stick to it. We had neither the last few years. We will from now on...

Steve showed his loyalty to Rudy when he said he would leave if Rudy did.
He has come around somewhat on the hiring of JVG since. Steve said "if they are happy I am happy."
Since they (I think he meant the organization) are happy, it means Steve is happy that JVG is here.

BigRay is right that as a leader of a team, maybe Steve should be here to welcome JVG or at least come out and be forthright about the situation. I guess Steve is not quite ready for the role of the leader or the speaker of the team yet. In that sense, not many players these days assume that role on and off the court the way Magic, Bird and MJ did.

If we expect Steve to be more of a leader than he is, we are right to be mad at him.
If we look at Steve as just another player for the Rockets. His responsibility lies solely in playing ball, then he behaves just fine.

People were saying the same things about Stevie when we drafted Yao. Stevie didn't exactly jump for joy but as we all know, he and Yao are now boys on and off the court.

Maybe it's just not Stevie's style to make a big deal about things like this. Given the touchy situation with Rudy's "stepping down", maybe he didn't want to give the impression that he wanted Rudy gone. I think we are digging too deep on this one, folks. We don't know how Stevie feels about it, so why jump to conclusions?

you guys are really pathetic. dont you guys have any life of your own or is it so boring you must delve into the personal lives of others? here is a suggestion, watch afternoon soap operas. they have more of a plot so that you all dont have to make a mountain out of a mole hill for entertainment. steve francis is the best guard that this franchise has ever had, period. it is really sad that so-called rockets fans treat a guy that we are lucky to have so poorly. and about the vancouver thing, would you all rather that we still had a brent price or matt maloney as our starting pg? get a life you schmelties.

THis is weak. Just cause Francis has not said anything does not mean he is against the decision. There are so many Francis haters here in Houston and they just come up with weak stories to bash him. Where was LES when Rudy T was FIRED, I mean resigned? Rudy dedicated his life to the organization and Les couldn't show up to wish Rudy the best and sent him off? That's pretty weak. Why does everyone have to hate on Francis? It's old, weak, tiring and played out. Peace.

What we have from Francis is a quote that came out of his own mouth. What we have from Yao is a statement prepared by his agent or lawyer or some other member of Team Yao that may or may not have been read by Yao before it was published. Seems to me that Francis has actually paid the hiring more attention than Yao has.

And, despite the perrennial rumors of the trouble Francis will cause, he has never (to my recollection) actually caused any problems. He seems to me to be a great team player.

I don't care what Francis does off the court.. all I care about is him coming to the Houston Rockets and not playing basketball like a selfish brat. Thats the part I ain't digging. Steve can start a recording company called "iso all night long till the break of dawn" and do a remix of "De La Sol's: Me, Myself, and I" for all I care. As long as he plays unselfishly and lives up to that fat contract by making his teammates better.. its all good. You know what I mean Jelly Bean?

I'm not hating on Steve Francis. Steve is my favorite Player in the nba but I was just saying it would've been good to see or hear from him after the hiring of JVG. If you want to be called the franchise or the leader you have to start acting like one and he could have made a giant step in that department if he wouldve called or welcomed him here, and please stop with the Yao didnt call either because he called or sent a message soon after JVG was hired and said good comments about the hire. Steve is a great player and like i said he's my favorite but what kind of comment is "If THEY happy then I'm happy" that's pathetic thats message sends off negative vibe to me thats all.

    To Manny,

I'm not at all angry. I just want The Rox & Steve to do what it takes. We all do, I know that. :)

I am a Stevie fan overall, but I'm just frustrated with the periodic vanishing acts, and headaches, & whatnot ... Maybe not his fault, but whatever.

Nobody wants this team to win as badly as I do. Just accept that there is a new coach, etc. All of these rumors are brainwashing me. I live in stupid Ohio, & don't read that Jerkhole Blinebury every day. What Francis REALLY says, I have no idea. But if he REALLY said he would leave if Rudy left, or if the horrid CAT leaves ... then EFF him. I don't want him. B-Ball is a biddness, just like it is when he leaves to join the fabulous Wizards. ;)

Get something for him, while you can ... before he "leaves."
