Is Five Guys the most overrated burger joint in America?

i agree that it is overrated. I tried it, because my brother said it's one of the best. I was so disappointed. There is not enough food, and the fries are terrible. They're so freaking oily. I remember seeing an advertisement saying that they have the best fries, but I am pretty sure McDonald's had better fries.

I've tried in and out a couple of times, and I think it's better than Five Guys.

I love Fudruckers.

 

If I'm spending $10 bucks on a burger I'm going to Red Robin. Their fries are bottomless and their honey mustard and ranch is divine.

 

only slightly, but yes. i would rather have a slightly crappier burger and pay 5$ less, ya dig? for the price of 5 guys i can eat something better than a burger.

 

Mooyah Burgers is pretty good

 

Chilli's has better burgers than all these places

I&O is awful and lives off the novelty of animal style.

 

Their fries are BOMB! And they give you a butt load of em too. I personally prefer the kosher hotdogs when i go to Five guys.

After finding out there were a couple of 5 Guys burger joints not too far from me, I decided to try one today. It was good, but nothing great. They sure do give you a ton of fries. Damn. But then they charge you like $2.50 for the smallest fries. For the price, I'm not sure it's worth going back to as a regular place, but I'd eat there again.

*eagerly awaiting the opening of the In-N-Out near my house to see if it lives up to the hype*

 

I think Whataburger is actually the most overrated, esp on this board.

5 Guys I actually enjoy their burgers.

 

Yuck, last burger I had there the cook must have let the top come off the salt shaker.

I've never had 5 guys. I saw one over the holidays but didn't eat there.

As far as fast food goes it depends on what you're looking for.

The best Fast Food Burger is Fatburger. It's better than any other fast food I've had. Their fries are also top notch. I prefer them to McDonald's fries. I like them either fat or skinny.

Whataburger comes next. It's a good burger as far as fast food goes. The Fries are OK. Their Breakfast Taquitos used to be good about 20 years ago, but have gone downhill.

In N Out - Whataburger is a better burger than In N Out but In N Out maybe the best burger for the price. So the best overall value. Their fries are often underdone. When their fries are actually cooked correctly they are great because they are so fresh and cut from the whole potato right there in the store. But 80% of the time their fries are underdone, and suck big time.

 

Yeah, I know of around 2 of them opening up in the Dallas burbs and another possibly opening near downtown. I get the distinct feeling I'm going to be let down.

I've eaten at 5 guys 4 times now and only the last time that I ate there, was I satisfied with the burger. As for their fries? They are the best I have ever had although they do give you too much.

Best burger I have eaten on a consistent basis would be Hardee's The best burger, one time only, that I have eaten was at IHOP.

 

Thats because you already have some sort of expectation of what it should be. I started eating at In N Out a couple years ago before all the hype and liked it because you simply get a good, inexpensive burger that is made to order from fresh ingredients. Its not the best burger I ever had, but it is the burger that I compare everything else to.

 

Not 5 guys related, but I had a burger with peanut butter and bacon on it yesterday for lunch, and it was the most delicious burger I have ever eaten.
