I'll be one of the first to admit that Vince will be quite a scary player if he gets the completion rate, etc up and and his passing skills start to get really good. However, if we are judging the players by what they've done thus far this year, then the passing stats for Vince and the rushing stats for Reggie aren't all that impressive thus far. The obviously could improve greatly and have a good chance of improving. It's harder for me to judge Mario because I don't look at players in his position as closely usually, how has he looked compared to the average starter at his position?
Because being an Aggie Fan is the shiznit! Good young Football team this year (not a fan of Fran though) Awesome basketball team (last I checked ranked #13?) and great coach And because my best memories were rooting on the Rockets in the 95 Finals in AGGIELAND with hundreds of fellow fans! Oh how I miss the days!
Because every thread about A&M here turns into a joke with the UT bandwagoners piling on. I completely agree with jgreen in that respect.
cause UT fans poop on it. And then a b****es Festival starts. oh, um. I love the way Mario Williams plays football. He's such a nice guy.
He's improving in some ways every game, but not nec in all stats; the opponents will have some say in that. His running was better today, no Ints, no fumbles. His highest rating in the first 4 games he's played in was 70, then he had an 86 and 87 against Washington and Houston. Tennessee lost their first 5 games this year, and have gone 3-2 since then (with a 1-point loss to Baltimore last weekend). He has a long way to go, but Vince will get a lot LOT better as he acclimates to the pros.
Thank you. If someone started a thread on A&M, the UT clan would laugh, crack jokes, post aggie jokes, say something like when is the last time A&M won a national championship, make fun of RC Slocum, Coach Fran, The Corp, cheerleaders etc, it would get turned off topic real quick and anyone who defended A&M would be a stupid aggie and their posts around here would be taken as a joke from that point forward.
I'm sorry but I don't think he is improving each game. His QB rating is 58. His completion percentage is awful. Granted they don't really open it up with him in there, but I think the coaches know his limitations.
Thats a good one. You just took a shot at anyone who went to UH. Once again, arrogance. The funnier thing is that we are talking about football and UT football players and now you are talking about academics as if those guys even went to class. I'd pay good money to see VY's SAT scores.
Aaawww...touchy touchy, I was just kidding btw hence the smiley. Not sure how you're getting into academics of the players. As far as not starting a thread because of the "UT Clan" ruining the party, you know you could always ignore them right? If ya'll actually wanted to discuss your prospective teams, why wouldn't you? I'm sure there are more than enough UH or A&M fans to have a good thread. It just seems that some are so much more interested in discussing UT rather than their own school.
how many a&m/uh/rice/utep threads get overrun by UT fans? they mostly seems to get their requisite replies for whatever purpose they were started (usually a game) and then fall off the first page. it seems most of the massively long b****fests on this bbs are usually UT-related threads that then have everyone come flying into them from any number of fanbases.
Michael Vick's RAT in 2001 was 62.7 Donovan McNabb's RAT in 1999 was 60.1. Randall Cunningham's RAT in 1985 was 29.8.
yup...i came to check this thread to see if anyone had any commentary on mario in the bills game but all i get is the same old VY/Reggie crap. i missed most of the game...can anyone give me a review of mario yesterday?

He broke his own record by completing 25 of 29 passes (86.2%) against Colorado in 2005. -the first and only player in NCAA I-A history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season. No other player has even reached the 2,500/1,000 mark in a season. In sum, nothing based on the predonderance of the history of high draft QBs as well as VY's own progress at Texas leads one to think VY is anything other than on track. If anything Fisher is using him very smartly, as most high draft rook QBs have a lot more INTs (see above). VY does make Tenn a better team than Collins or Volek would have, he is learning real game experience, and the offense is orineted to limit mistakes. They are 3-4 with close loses to Indy and Balt, the latter whom VY got in position to beat if not for a kicking game error). Finally, as we found with Kerry Collins with the Texas, who really wants to throw downfield to a trifecta of regular WRs where Drew Bennett is your clear #1 guy and Bobby Wade and Brandon Jones are your 2/3. But again, I am not unhappy with the Mario Williams pick for the Texans. And the Titans are certainly not unhappy with Vince Young, who not only is the best QB they have but whom has rocket potential for year 2 and year 3. If VY's passing completion is under 50% and 60rating by the end of next year then I might be a little concerned. I doubt it will be this way, heck, VY completed over 75% of his passes against winning teams his last year at Texas. He does have good touch, timing and accuracy. He just has to learn the pro system and get some weapons at the Titans. It isn't like he can just chuck up a jump ball and have Bolden or Fitz go grab 80% of those passes.
Like I said, his stats don't look all that great to me now, but they will likely improve. I've always had my opinion on which of the qbs in the draft will be the best, but we'll have to wait a few years to judge that (when Cutler gets a chance, etc, and no I don't think Vince would be starting on Denver either). I'm just saying, to be fair if people complain about Reggie Bush's stats, shouldn't it be pointed out that Vince's stats aren't exactly amazing? I know they play a different position and rbs may be able to make an impact faster, but if we are going to give Vince time, people also need to give Reggie and Mario time. Actually, I'm a Texans fan so I'm not too concerned about Reggie, but give Mario some time
Back to some Mario talk He had two tackles. So he now has 28 total (22 tkl + 6 Ast), 4.5 sacks and it looks like 1 fumble recovery. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/427356/gamelogs/2006
