Haha. EG should've been given another chance IMO. We invested 3 first round picks into this guy. We could've had Richard Jefferson! There's some businesses that operate despite losing money because closing it down loses more. That's the same situation regarding EG. I'm fine with giving him a minimum for 3 years with a team option on the third. Cut him anytime if he can't keep a straight course. Small price but potentially big pay off.

Well, I've been blue balled before, so why not?

EG will probably have to prove himself in the NBDL before any NBA team takes a chance on him.

You guys seem to forget that Eddie has basically been a bust as a PLAYER let alone his off-the-court problems. He showed occassional flashes, but he is not close to a starting calliber power forward right now. Comparing him to guys who can actually play is unfair. It's one thing to be a thug and also a great player. It's another thing altogether to be a thug and flash only moments of "potential" mixed with lazy work habits and below average skills.

    Basketball term for black listed?

I hope he comes back for any team, I liked watching him.
    Remember when he stuffed Shaq!

    My balls are always bouncing
To the left and to the right
It's my belief that my big balls
    Should be held every night

EG will have to beg JVG for another shot at playing for the Rockets. And even that might not be enough. :)

He's not actually good at being a thug, either.

EG was a solid back up 4 when he was cut, only his fg% was low.

Eddie Griffin sucks. If that is called "black balled" then yes, he's being blackballed.

He has shown zero on the court, while being a pain in the ass off of it. There aren't too many teams looking for a woman beater with no talent.

Well the fault with your statement is that it's wrong. He does have talent. He may lack drive, work ethic and even common friggin sense. But he has talent in abundance. So that said, let's take a look around the league.

    Glenn Robinson
    Jason Kidd
    Allen Iverson
    Rueben Patterson
    Kobe Bryant
    Jason Richardson
    Clifford Robinson
    Anthony Mason
    Bonzi Wells
    Sam Cassell
    Gary Payton
    Jason Caffey

All of these guys have at least been arrested for some sort of assault on a woman, many of them convicted, and these are names I just remember off the top of my head or found from doing a quick google search. This article is particularly disturbing: http://www.nypost.com/sports/22940.htm
It claims Anthony Mason has been accused of rape three times. That same article mentions a book in which claims 40% of the NBA have police records involving serious crimes.

This is a nice one too. http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2003/0718/1582781.html

Hell, even in our glory days we had Mad Max on our roster. Remember when he assaulted a fan in the stands? Or the time he pulled a gun on someone in a Luby's parking lot?

Now I'm by no means saying it's right that these kind of things regularly go over-looked or that Eddie Griffin even deserves another chance, but I just find it odd that with all of this being so, I haven't once seen him listed among free agents. It just seems odd to me that someone so young with so much potential is already written off but a guy like Vin Baker is apparently going to get yet another shot after how many horrible seasons?

The different between Eddie and the other guys above is that the other guys are willing to work.

Eddie does not shown any willing to work and constantly blows the chances that people are giving to him.

There is no use of him if he just gonna get his salary and continue his drinking.

He got too many chance easilly already. Now he has to work to find it if he really want it. (which i doubt)

Wow, I didn't realize there's so many of them.

Eddie was a solid backup 4 when he was cut, his stats in his last year rivals that of last year's Cato. If we had Eddie last year, one benefit would be better spacing for Yao since Eddie has range.

Cato can turn around, so can Griffin! Give him a chance CD.

Can you blame them? How many #1s did they trade for him? I mean, the money is small chage compared to what they lost just in getting him. I don't blame them for feeling no more desire to try him out. That would be like Boozer getting badly injured and then Cleveland giving him a new contract....

I occasionally have thoughts of maybe trying the EG Experiment again, but then I ask myself, 'What did he do when he was with us?' He hit some 3's, tried too many 3's.. I really don't remember him ever doing anything on the court to warrant anything other than bust status.

Oh yeah that and Bill Walton repeatedly saying Eddie was TERRRRRRIBLe.

I for one won't cry if we just cut our losses and get over him.
