Offensively he is very unpolished but he is still effective. The guy averages over 20 points on a great shooting percentage. He would be try to be more Karl Malone and less Shaq, he would even be more effective.

Defensively, Dwight is as good as anyone not named Hakeem or Mutumbo. I purposely left out Russell because of the era issue.

Yup the guy is right on par with the way he's rated in this era of basketball. You can say that about a lot of other players who are highly valued at this point in time compared to the legends.

To each his own. It all depends on what classifies as "Overrated"..

If your talking rings. Then "Yes?". Which would make Yao just a overrated.

If I was being honest and saying that I was pleased to find out that the duo of McGrady/Yao would not win a single championship. I would be upset if I found this out in 2004.

Yao and Howard are one in the same. Outside of being an international star. Yao basically is Howard.

Howard is a 3 time defensive player of the year which alone is a unique for a guy that averages close to 20 ppg on his career. (Ben Wallace, Mutumbo) only others to get it 4-times.

The media is blowing everything out of porportion which is to be expected. They are butthurt. But if Howard wins one championship, then will the weight be lifted off howard and lead to the stamp being removed? Will 1 ring be enough? Will he want more?

It's still to be determined. This is a label only for those who retire from the game, then you make the assumption.
