Not true. Dwight can do things for your team defense that not even guys like Asik and Bogut can do. He's worth it defensively when he's locked in on that end.
There is a reason Dwight's head is so small compared to the size of his body. No brain in there. He is entirely dependent on athleticism. Never bothered to learn skills such as free throw shooting or any real post moves, makes dumb plays all the time.
Cyberx mentioned Dwight might need microfracture. Houston is cursed. Amar'e 2.0. It'll be Harden's turn next to suffer from an inexplicable and sudden injury scare.
Dwight is embarrassing in the post. That said, there is a solution that allows Dwight to be effective -- DON'T POST HIM UP (and use D-Mo instead)
Wouldn't even mind if Howard sat again. Oh wait... we got rid of our better replacement C. I long for those Tariq Black games.
Bingo - even though I hate him as a player, I can see what value Dwight can bring on the court. But it's not even close to being worth 1/3 of our cap space. Keeping Dwight here for that kind of money means we'll never get enough talent around Harden to win a championship.
Dwight Howard is what he is...he's been in the league a long time and he's not going to change. He's an all-star, but his deficiencies prevent him from being considered a super star. He's definitely not worth $20 million a year.
Softest player in the league.... Dwight is the answer. Crappiest post game in the league.... Biggest headcase in the league... Player who's called BAN and PAN most often.... Spoiler
There's a reason Morey is after Lopez, and now people know why. Howard has always been overrated because of his highlight reels as a young athletic player, but poster who said he never bothered to learn the game is absolutely correct. The fact is, Howard is becoming more of a liability ever than before. Every coach knows he can't shoot FT's so the Rockets can't rely on him during crunch time. Also, he continues to show low basketball all IQ by making the same mistakes over and over again. I guarantee Steve Kerr told his players to swipe for the ball when Howard puts it on the floor, like he does every time as he makes a move towards the middle. This happened repeatedly tonight, which resulted in 5 TO's... 5. After all these years he's yet to learn how to hold the ball up high like Gasol. Again, I think it's pretty obvious he's deteriorating physically, and I fully Morey to make a move for another big. Aside from that the Rockets have some serious deficiencies at the PG spot and it was no more evident tonight that Beverly won't cut the mustard as a starter.
then why the hell do the rockets always insist on going for big name highlight reel players? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Not unless they fix his mechanics AND there isn't too much damage to his joints already. Otherwise, Tmac part deux.
