If you read my post, I said he hasn't contributed much in the playoffs. So what if he rebounds well in the regular season? He isn't even averaging a 10/10 in the whole series. Sure he contributed on defense, and the amount of blocks he had was amazing, but that is not enough to put him on a top 15 player so far in the playoffs. I will give him credit for his defensive presense, but as the best player on his team, he has to do a lot more than block if they want to win the ring. Hitting over 50% of his FT is a good start (in the playoffs that is)
Actually LBJ would probably score lower. He's a worse shooter, and just like Durant he can be swarmed by the Kobe/Artest/Odom trifecta. Wade's the only guy I'd say who has a chance of scoring better than Durant given the roster on the team.
Melo played a weakened Jazz team not the Lakers. KD would have lit up the Jazz. Either way, it's over for both guys. I'd still put Melo above KD. Next season may be a very different story.
You can't play up on Lebron and swarm him... if Artest tries to play physical on Lebron he gonna get f'ked up. If you play off lebron and don't pressure him then he will undoubtedly find the open man who does shoot a high percentage. So basically what I'm trying to say is Lebron is indefensible for a 48 minute stretch by any means, do you remember the Christmas match-up where the Cavs steam rolled the Lakers. Lebron can and will make any defense look like a bunch of 6th graders learning the proper defensive stance. Lebron James can be unstoppable when he wants to be, I don't even like the guy and I'll say. I much prefer Kobe's perimeter orientated style of play but Lebron James can not be stopped, he is the going to be the best player to ever play basketball.
Just like the old adage, "You can't stop him; you can only try to contain him" and it's been proven that LeBron can be contained. The only problem is that, in order to contain him, you need two very good perimeter defenders who are tall and physical enough to keep up with him. Tack on a solid front-court defense that would make him think twice about steamrolling over the perimeter defenders to get to the bucket. Need an example of such occurrence? Right here
This about agrees with my eyeball rankings: My list off the top of my head was 1. Lebron 2. Wade 3. Durant 4. Kobe 5. CP3 But I like everyone else had forgotten about Duncan. He probably deserves to be in the 5-6 area along with CP3, Carmelo, and Deron Williams. Don't get me started on Duhwight...he's like doubly more efficient than any other player on his team and he STILL doesn't demand the ball in the final minutes? I guess it's because he still hasn't developed an assortment of post moves despite being in the league for what feels like a decade almost now. He should be #2 on this list, but it's his own fault he isn't.
No one forgot about Duncan; it's just he's past his prime. He can give you a great 20/16 game once in a while but it's not the same as it was 5-6 years ago. Anyone ranking Duncan in the Top 10 is pretty much basing that on what he's done and not the player he is now. Don't think that I'm disrespecting TD but it's just the truth.
It's true. TD used to be one of the most consistent great players in the league but today he is a player who can win you a big game everyone once in a while. You know he still has it in him to do something great when it has to be done, he can reach deep down and rewind time every once in a while, the skill is definitely there still I just don't think his body can handle the banging it takes to play great on a consistent basis at the position anymore. Imagine being his age and trying to box out Dwight 'the beast' Howard for 48 minutes.
...or Bynum, Yao, Gasol, Shaq, etc. Duncan is still good. But he isn't great anymore. Defensively, he is still the best 4 in the game. Offensively, I'd rank him behind Stoudemire and Bosh.
I don't know why CP3 get so much attention, I mean don't get me wrong he is great player and all, but the guy has been struggling thought injuries for the past 2 years.
