He can't really create his own offense the way any of those wing players can. Dwight Howard can be shut down easily. Just put a big body on him, and he really can't do anything.
Some people say the midrange shot is a dead art. Making your teammates better is the dead art. Durant doesn't do it. Not top 5.
Accidentally voted yes.. On phone.. I am a Kevin Durant fan. He is a really good player and probaly will be a top five player as soon as next year.. But right now I just don't think he Is better the. Melo and Dirk.
You're probably just saying this because Yao owns Howard, in all honesty he has gotten MUCH better at creating his own offense and is quite good at it now. He's developed his post repertoire quite a bit over the past couple years.
He does actually. His passing is so underrated because of his stats. IMO he is better than Kobe even right NOW. It's unbelievable how this Oklahoma team makes the playoffs without a below average center/powerforward and a scorer besides Durant. He will show himself in playoffs for sure, but I'm worried about the lack of good big men in OKC. You can't go deep in the playoffs without a good big men even if you got Lebron, Kobe, CP3 on the same team.
Marc Stein's All-NBA team http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-100409-10/award-winners First team F: LeBron James F: Kevin Durant C: Dwight Howard G: Dwyane Wade G: Kobe Bryant Second team F: Dirk Nowitzki F: Amare Stoudemire C: Andrew Bogut G: Steve Nash G: Deron Williams Third team F: Carmelo Anthony F: Pau Gasol C: Tim Duncan G: Brandon Roy G: Joe Johnson The thinking: The only real issue on the first team was choosing between Wade and Nash for the second guard spot, which would have been even closer if Nash hadn't been plagued by second-half back woes. The bigger issue this season is making room for all the forwards, which proved so difficult that Chris Bosh -- in spite of his unquestionably elite individual production -- lost his spot as a consequence of Toronto's serious second-half struggles to beat out injury-plagued Chicago for the East's No. 8 seed. Making room for Bosh would have meant the exclusion of one of the following five players: Stoudemire, Bogut, Duncan, Gasol or Anthony. I couldn't authorize the omission of any of them, despite Bosh's impressive numbers, because of the contributions they all made to winning programs. The only consolation for Bosh is that he has a lot of company on the list of topflight snubs, which includes Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo in a season with potentially no Boston representatives, Charlotte's hard-to-separate Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, Utah's Carlos Boozer, Memphis' reborn Zach Randolph, San Antonio late-season savior Manu Ginobili, New York stat stuffer David Lee, Dallas' Jason Kidd (who quietly played on Nowitzki's level for much of the season) and New Orleans' Chris Paul, who had too many injuries to claim his usual All-NBA slot. The other challenge was settling on a second-team center (Bogut won out for his all-around impact in a breakthrough season) and whom to deploy as a third-team center (Duncan got the nod over Gasol because he's forced to play there with the Spurs more than Pau is with the Lakers … and more than Duncan wants to admit).

LeBron Kobe Durant Wade If these guys are on, you simply can not stop them no matter what defense you play. You can double or triple, but then they will find the open man and you will lose. -- Howard is good but he has so many flaws. Comparable to Alonzo Mourning or Ewing if one is generous, but he's nowhere close to Dream. Melo is a great scorer but lacks the court sense, handles, and competitiveness of the top 4. Chris Paul and Deron Williams are amazing, but lack the raw scoring ability of the top 4. They need a big man to play off of.
If you want to play that game, I've been saying this since KD's rookie season before he cleaned up so many of his flaws. Even this year, he has progressed rapidly. Early in the season, he was still fading late in games. The last couple of months, he's owned crunch time on several occasions. That's a huge step.
Kevin Durant is a beast, IMO! Bet lets not kid ourselves and think he is better than Kobe, LeBron, Melo, CP3 or even Dwight! My top 5: 1. LeBron 2.Kobe 3.Paul 4.Dwight 5.Melo
Fans are excited by the rise of a new superstar. Media is prompting him. But, I won't be convinced until he gives a great performance in playoffs.
This season Kobe fell off my top five. Kobe has regressed and he doesn't even get to the rim anymore. The guy is strictly a jump shooter and just living on reputation. He will be exposed on the big playoff stage.... Lebron Dwight Durant Wade Williams
You know what, I was thinking the exact same thing. Shame on me for going with the flow and putting him in just for his name. New top 5 revised list for this season: 1) Lebron 2) Melo 3) Durant 4) Wade 5) Deron
