Where's a good pf in that group? Kg is plays like a sf, so does dirk.

    Jermaine's not elite either.

I'm not enamored with jumpshooting 4's of today.

just to add to the SG position, if you want to start bringing up players who are great at that position but have yet to reall accomplish anything in the post season you should add tmac into that category.. this year's going to be special for alot of reasons.

Shooting is an offensive stat, hes the best defensive rebounder in the league but how good is he on the more important aspect of rebounding (offensive).

Then tell me how many of his rebounds does he get because he literally contest no shots around the paint? Hed much rather stick to his man and boxout than contest a shot, cant really blame him considering his frontcourt big is Mark "I smoke" Blount

Maybe a better way to test the question is this.

If you put the Spurs against Jordan's Bulls, would the Spurs have lost? Would they have gotten swept?

If your answer is yes to the first (and a yes to the second would be a major reinforcement), then Duncan would still not be better than Malone and Barkley.

My thoughts? Duncan has Parker and Ginobilli to do the offensive lifting for him. That's why he can:

    i) have the energy levels to defend well; and
ii) have the space to score consistently.

I agree that if you replace Malone and Barkley into the current Spurs team, they would either: a) have a field day with their scoring, or b) be equally as productive as Duncan on the defensive end.

Just curious, but why do some say McHale was just as good when he never really had to be the #1 option? I think that clearly makes a difference, especially when you are playing off of Larry Bird....

I agree with A but B is way out of line. Barkley doesn't play defense and Malone is not going to control the paint defensively. He is the master of hitting your hand...oops, I mean swiping the ball away.

I think Duncan wins titles on those Jazz teams. Those series were pretty close, and the difference came down to Malone being his typical nut up self and letting all the Bulls centers turn him into a jumpshooter (they really kept him out of the paint).
