He's better for GS than Marion would be. He shoots, defends, and dirties the game better than Marion. It's hard to find an accurate player to compare historically. A lot of is also dependent on his teammates. I'll be curious to see how he fares if he had to the focal point of a team.
No. But I think the Warriors will make a mistake by paying him, just like they did with Thompson. They both are good players, but not remotely worth max contract, that's reserved to players who you can build your team around.
Given that they just won their first title in 40 years and Thompson was an integral part of that, I don't think they have any qualms with paying Thompson, even if he sucks for the rest of his contract. The goal of sports is to win, not to pay players the right amounts.
I think he's worth the max in today's NBA. Stretch four who can dribble, penetrate, and pass, and not a great shooter but good enough to keep the defense thinking twice before leaving him open. He's also stepped up in the playoffs the few seasons he's been in the NBA. If Parsons can get the max as the solid third guy on a team that was bounced in the first round, Draymond WILL DEFINITELY get the max - he's been their third guy on a Championship team that won 67 games. He'll probably get a similar deal from GS to what Jimmy Butler got offered (and reportedly rejecting) by Chicago
Max as in $14 mil..yes. People need to stop throwing out Max without context. Max for Durant/Melo/Lebron is 26 mil+. For Green its like 15.
Max does not equal Franchise Player. Max = what the market will offer. Franchise players getting the MAX are viewed as BARGAINS who are really under-paid.
they let this scrub kill the center position. Flops when he guards a center and hacks the center on the defense side

there are players in the league that dont make the max that are better than gree... by definition, that means he's not worth the max however, warriors may see something in him that fits in their system... he's basically a players whoa mediocre - above average in all categories except oral health
